Weekend Warrior Summary: We camped at Pine Grove Furnace Park and rode from camp Sunday morning. We did like a 2-1/2 hour ride. It starts with road up, real rocky at the top and then gets real nice and smooth towards the bottom. AWESOME RIDE.
Recommended Route: GET MAP AT OFFICE. It costs a few bucks but well worth it. Dont be a cheap ass... Start in State Park groupds and go up hill on Bendersville Road to warm up. At top, make right on ATV trail (#41). These are very rocky trails. We tried to follow trail #35 and #33 but signs are sparce and confusing. Look for #32 and take the short switchback up to the top of the knob hill which has awesome views and trails as well. It's pretty much all down from here with awesome sweeping turns with high berms. It's real nice and a little smoother and faster than the top. What a great ending!!! Other recommended trails in the same area: Hit the Michaux West Slope Trail (west of Rt 233) See my review on that trail.

Weekend Warrior Summary: The trails here are incredible. If you want a challenge, you will find it here. Anyone that says that these trails are too hard...may just be being honest! It takes little courage to attack some of these trails, but its a blast. Recommended Route: After a few days of heavy rain, take the trail that starts at the end of the parking lot. After the rain, the entire trail floods and you go down a wicked fast downhill in 6 inches of flowing water. I do not have disc brakes...which makes this even more exhilerating! Keep going until about 4 trails connect and make a sharp left...go back up the mountain on another trail into oncoming water! Other recommended trails in the same area: This isn't a trail, but there is a utility road next to the parking lot. Ride out about 4 miles or so and then turn around a come back. The whole way back is on a downhill grade with blind turns. I almost took out 4 deer at about 45 mph on the mountain bike!

, from Carlisle Summary: If you go up the road the goes through Pine Grove St Furnace at the top is a HUGE parking lot. From here you can take many trails down either side of the Mountain. There is also a road "Mountain Ridge Road" that will lead you out further to more trials. These trials are mostly the ATV trials. They are VERY rocky and some are almost impossible. Especially the ones labeled "Most Difficult". These are fun and there are some BITCHIN Downhills. But there are better trials here If you park at the furnace. and ride out to RT 233. Take a left. You can then ride up Old Shippensburg Road. This will lead you to the start of a trial that follows a logging road to "Michaux Rd" take a right and yell see the trial on your left after like 50 feet. Ride this. There are many diff ways to do it; it splits 2 or 3 times. Each has a nice DH in it someplace. Keep Going "RIGHT" to extend your ride. Another great place to start is on 233. Drive past the entrance to the furnace. And about 2 miles or so up the road will be a dirt pull off on the right side. Its big you cant miss it. Start here and go into the woods. You will come to a bridge over a stream. Follow this RT keeping to the right. It will lead you to some very technical up hill. The up hill will end with a hard climb up some S turns. At the top of this go left. (This is also where the above trial will bring you. If you stay right) After taking the left follow this single track to you hit a road "Woodrow Road" its a good climb up Woodrow Road till you get to a big right turning the road, you can head into the woods right there. (Ignore any signs you see) this Single Track is BADASS isnt ridden much cause its hidden. This will take you along the ridge for a long time. It will dump you in an opening. Take a left down the grassy road. This DH is FAST and it turns back into ST quickly. This will snake its way down the ridge and dump you on another grassy road. Take this till you hit a dirt road. (Woodrow Road again) take a left and go like 200 yards. Yull see a trial on your right. Take this and it will bring you back to the bridge on the stream. Its a great ride. Best in Michaux IMO.
Recommended Route: There are so many. im listen some places to start below. I ride here at least twice a week. Every time you can find a new trail. Miles and miles of trials Other recommended trails in the same area: If it looks like a trail it is a trail. RIDE IT nave fun

, from Carlisle Summary: This trail system is not for pussies like our Philly friend there. i have busted many a tube and just had to buy 2 brand new weels due to irreperal damaged occoured on 1/2 a season worth of riding these trails. if you love the tough stuff, and some insane downhill this is utopia in PA. otherwise, stay home or hit a rail-trail. Recommended Route: 233 to Bendersville Rd. park at top of mountain big stone lot. look out for ATV riders Other recommended trails in the same area: any, trails extend from Pine Grove Furnace to Caledonia. Pock, ride and love it. An easy method is to look for white markers at trail heads and intersections. all markers have color coded difficulty ratings. believe these markers, easy is not necessarily easy though, remember these are ATV trails, for ATVs your borrowing them.

, from Hershey PA Summary: The trails are nasty!! lots of rocks on the ATV sections, if you have roadie tendencys stay away, but if you like hard trails you will have a blast Recommended Route: Gettysburg bicycle has maps of the races on their website, the only time I've been to Michaux and had a good ride, is during the races or with locals, its's hard to find your way around. http://www.gettysburgbicycle.com/events.htm
