Cross Country Rider Summary: Great place for a beginners and more advanced riders. Many different trails with different difficulties. Fun place to ride for a quick session. Although its not the biggest park so planning on riding all day would not be a great option. Many locals ride to keep the legs warm. Recommended Route: oak trail is my favorite.(marked in red)

Ridden Trail: Once a week

, from Lancaaster Summary: This is a good, quick ride for locals of Lancaster. The whole park trail system can usually be traversed in one-half hour or so. I use this park just to 'keep the legs warm' for the weekend rides. For a beginning mountain bike rider, this place has all the necessities to perfect your skils (climbs, rocks, roots, dowhills). I would have to say that total mileage on the trails is about 6-8 miles or so which makes it a good ride. For most of the year (excluding winter) there is a plethora of burn hazel (a.k.a., fire weed) on the trails, so if you bail allot, wear your long pants and shirt. There can also be allot of spider webs along the trails so either get some glasses or make your buddy ride first. Park by the Ranger's station next to the pool that way your vehicle and bike rack will be safe. The element that frequents the park can be a little 'dicey' sometimes and who needs to come back from a ride to find a broken window? Watch out for the horsey riders too. Sometimes you will encounter them or the presents they leave behind. Also stay off the Wildflower Trail as it is off limits to bikes. Neil and Bob hang out there anyway, so no loss :-)!!! Stay safe and keep the top side up! Recommended Route: Park at the Ranger's office and head east towards Duke Street. At Rockford Road take a right then and immediate left into the trail. Follow the trail up and over the top then through. We usually run the park this way, but is equally as fun the other way (more climbs) Other recommended trails in the same area: Camp Mack (Brickerville)
