Summary:
Wanna climb? All ridable and is an official Pa gameland access per thier site. Climb from the parking lot, drop a bit and then left on the H S trail. follow the yellow blazes till they turn uphill on the pipeline and C L I M B. BAck side is a nice downhill
and ends at the creek at the cable crossing. You can loop this and exit the creek trail via Cold Springs per the Gameland web info. Beware of hunting seasons.
As always ride softly and treat hikers and horses with
total respect. It is a great valley access and can also be combined with the legal Stony tower loop and rattling run to make a climber ride you will not forget.

Recommended Route:
route 443 pa game lands parking lot, north to horseshoe trail and then northwest to stony creek rail-
trail - about 5 miles with 2 uphill.

Summary:
The Horse-Shoe Trail is not entirely open to mountain biking. Open areas include designated sections posted by the PA Game Commission on state game lands and some designated park lands such as the Sico Foundations land in Mt. Gretna, possibly French Creek State Park,etc. See the PGC web site for the locations and regulations on state game lands. Because the HST is endangered of being closed in several areas, the cooperation of bikers in only using areas which are posted as open to biking, or checking for permission first, is requested. Some areas which may be open on state parks are indicated on the park literature. Other areas are somewhat sensitive because the host landowners have objected. Please help us to preserve what is available without loosing more of this trail which has suffered four host property closures in the past year by staying on the designated corridor where the trail is open to biking.

Summary:
While the Horseshoe Trail is a beautiful trail, it is best enjoyed from horseback or hiking. Indeed this trail is maintained by the Horseshoe Trail Club and the LANDOWNERS. Much of the trail goes through PRIVATE LAND and courtesy to the landowner should not only be encouraged, but expected. Anyone who claims this trail is open to bikes of any sort is mistaken. Admission of bikes is strictly subject to the sole discretion of the land owner. Any one who would argue this should put themselves in the landowner's position. How would you like it if someone rode a bike through your yard and told you you couldn't do anything about it? The trail is an natural trail and fallen trees and rocks are part of the beauty. It is not anyone's responsibility to ensure bikers have a safe passage and their way is unobstructed. FYI: I have routinely place 'No Bikes' signs at the ends of my property to find them defaced or removed. The horseshoe trail can be moved immediately and at any time at the sole discretion of the land owner. I would urge all users to respect the owner's wishes, or they may find themselves confined to the highway. There are at least five properties adjacent to each other that account for at least 1.5 miles of the trail. These landowners actively patrol the trail and have actively detained and pressed charges against trespassers with bikes. I would urge any prospective user to respect the property owner, or they will find the trail will disappear from use altogether.

Summary:
This place has alot of trails, NONE of which bikers aren't allowed on. So if any hikers say you can't be on there, they have no business and are just whiners. There is some private property which should be marked, otherwise it's the owner's fault. The Jump Trail was never marked until know and the owner of a nearby fruit farm decided to place obstructions on the trails causing one rider to break his collar bone. These people are stubborn pricks with nothing better to do than to complain. Also articles show up in the paper that the trailbuilders destroy the woods. Everything is made with dead logs and rocks, nothing is ever cut down. So people need to stop complaining and just learn to accept it. So if you like freeriding, you can find nice drops and things on the mountain near the fire tower, its too complicated so if you want to find where to go you'll have to ride with a person who knows the place.

Summary:
I just got back from a ride there and its everything people say it is. Steep Rocky Laced with roots Fast(downhill)and Fun. Watchout for sand and muddy spots. There are some tough rocky sections that I had to walk but other than that its good for just about everyone.
