Harrisburg has paved bike paths plus a pederstrain bridge to get to city island. There are 6.5 miles of paved bike path plus city island.Going north after the bike path you can follow the green belt signs about 2 miles to wildwood park which is part of the green belt, and very scenic, all except the back side of wildwood is flat.

Summary:
Greenbelt is a nice mellow ride. There are a few offshoots that you can go play on some dirt but for the most part is a paved, gravel or tanbark path. It's a good beginners ride. There are several parking places along so if you are driving to it, you can eaisly pick your starting point. Just don't expect any serious mountain biking. It can be ridden fine with a road bike. Most of it is along no-cars paths but there are a few places you must cross major roads.
