, from McKeesport PA Summary: was just there today 4-25-03 and the place is virtually null and void of ride able trails the ice damage and the heavy snow has taken there toll on the trees it really needs a massive effort on the part of EVERYBODY equestrians, MTBers, and trail hikers is there some way we can get this together so that it can be enjoyed by EVERYBODY again?? it is so bad that in some parts it is even un-hikeable this needs a SERIOUS effort !! let's try to get something going so that one of the best places to ride become ride able again I would love to be the one who gets things going but I need some serious help here to get the ball rolling maybe PORC, Dirt Rag , and all the local shops along with the local chamber of commerce is a place to start? I even will buy a chain saw to show what commitment on my part I am willing to make. Let's show them what OUR community is willing to do to keep the trails ride able and OPEN to us Mountain Bikers. Take care , PIDDLES!!!!(412)664-0733

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Gbg, PA Summary: The trail that starts at the 5 point intersection is very fun. Once you reach a "T", stay to the right. It takes you back down to the parking lot. You can get serious speed. I haven't followed it completely, but taking a left at the "T" will take you down into the valley. From my topo map, it appears that you can do a 10 mile loop. All told, the Firetower Road entrance to Forbes State Forest rocks. Excellent singletrack cab be found. From Firetower Road to Laurel Hill State Park and back is 18 miles. Recommended Route: Cross Firetower road to the east and enter woods. A trail parallels Firetower road, go right (south) and enjoy. When you meet the 5 point intersection in the road, look at the west side of firetower road. There is a small embankment with a clearly defined trail. take it. Other recommended trails in the same area: Cross Firetower road to the east and keep going east. You will reach Hidden Valley Resort. They have a nice 10 mile race loop. Pretty cool riding.
