Summary:
Deer path 1 and 2 are in great shape and are ridden regularly. Any Sunday you will find many bike rack equipped cars in the Broad Mtn. parking lot.

Recommended Route:
Park on top of Broad Mtn. at dirt parking lot, enter around yellow gate, follow doubletrack for approx. 1/2 mile, entrance to trail on left.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
American Standard

Summary:
"Under the new regulations, anyone who rides a non-motorized vehicle, conveyance or animal on State Game Lands must do so only on designated routes." John, and others: the Deerpath is designated as a route closed to biking. Only "designated routes" are open to biking... meaning the Broad Mountain Loop, and not much else. The bike trail listing at the Blue Mountain Sports website has a pretty good account of what is open and what isn't: http://www.bikejimthorpe.com

Recommended Route:
whatever is still open!

Reviewed by: John , from Bucks County

Summary:
Note the following from the PA game Commission's website: For each region, there is a list of designated routes. These route designations, which total more than 1,000 miles, are in compliance with State Game Lands use regulations that go into effect on February 1, 2003. Under the new regulations, anyone who rides a non-motorized vehicle, conveyance or animal on State Game Lands must do so only on designated routes. Such riding activities will not be permitted, except on Sundays or on roads open to public travel, from the last Saturday in September to the third Saturday in January, and after 1 p.m. from the second Saturday in April to the last Saturday in May. This does not apply to anyone lawfully engaged in hunting, trapping or fishing on State Game Lands. The restriction is only during hunting season. I don't agree with this restriction, however, it is not as bad as previously reported. I guess this gets the redneck off the hook if he "accidently" mistakes you for a rabbit and shoots your ass. By the way this trail is a great ride.

Recommended Route:
Clarification of closing notification by previous reviewer.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
American Standard (full suspension required) I've heard of some "supermen" claiming to have done it on a hardtail but never witnessed it.

Summary:
From what i have been reading all broad mtn trails are closed becuase of game comisson? I read the regualtions before i i thought it was a seasonal thing dealin with hunting seasons like in the fall and winter then in early spring closed until 12noon becuase of turkey season, anyway. there are some nasty rock on this trail not any real hard climb just rolling. Some rocks look like fingers that reach out and grab your spokes for a meal but a great ride it is.

RE: Closing The Commission rules state: "This does not apply to anyone lawfully engaged in hunting, trapping or fishing on State Game Lands." Buy a fishing license and go scope out fishing spots.
