Summary:
Deer Lakes rates very strong on the fun scale. The trails are mostly fast hardpack littered with log crossings, complete with a couple 'burly' log piles. Most of the climbs are short and steep so if you're getting tired don't worry it will be over soon. A handful of rock gardens and the occassional "deer in face".

It's easy to maintain a fast pace through miles of rolling singletrack so bring an extra set of lungs because you will need them.

These trails will give you the chance to hammer on every gear because on the backside of every climb is a fast downhill. But stay on the trail or be preparred to bring home poison ivy. It lines both sides of the trail for miles.

For those who care, the animal count is excellent. Over the past few years I have chased off the trail deer, bear, herrons, hawks and many other things to small to mention.

Recommended Route:
park near the upper lake and climb to the top of the road to the trails. Most of the trails eventusally loop back towards the lakes eventually.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
North Park
Boyce Park
Frick Park
Moraine
Bavington
Settler's Cabin

Summary:
Park offers miles of winding technical trails. Dirt/Mud trails studded with rocks, roots, with sharp turns wrapping around hills, and valleys. Many of the most technical trails start at the top of the park, near the "rainbow" grove. These trails lead out of the park and seem to go on endlessly. I have never taken the entire ride. Be prepared for some great downhill, but on the same note remember: you have to go back up again. Although the park has a variety of trails for different experience levels, remember to respect the singletrack for what it is. I wouldnt recommend the most technical for the lighthearted.

Recommended Route:
Many different trails you can jump on at a lot of trailheads. Just keep an eye out near all the parking lots, for trailheads at the edge of the woods.

Summary:
There are several excellent trails. It is a nice little hidden park. Not too much traffic, just some excellent riding. If you plan out your loop a little, you can make a ride that will have you using every gear. Excellent day. You can set up a loop for about every level of rider.

Recommended Route:
There are several ways in & out. I ride a 6 mile loop starting at the bottom. Park at the second lot on the right, cross the wooden bridge, trail head is just on the other side of the little toy riding horses. Once in the woods you can split left or right, both, eventually will come out on top. The right one is a bit longer but an easier hill to climb, the left one will test you a bit.

Summary:
Good for all types of riders. Not very technical bit it is a hard cardiovascular workout, with short downhills and quick climbs. There are at least 16 miles of trails out here, maybe more. Once you get into them, follow the orange tape on the trees and it should wind you through. There are about 12 miles of trails on the side of the main road that you start on and more on the other side which I dont know real well yet. You can access these behind the wooden fence across the street from where you make the right past the lakes.

Recommended Route:
Go past lakes and make the next right. Park in one of the lots near the top of the hill (walleye?), then look for the trails behind a playground.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Hartwood Acres
