Ridden Trail: Every few months

Reviewed by: Todd
, from that area Summary: If you have a chance to check out the single track it is some of the best around. I have ridden in Thorpe many times and this trail definetly competes against thorpe. If you take the deep lake to miles of mudd to deer trail to henry's to south it is a 16 mile loop. If you add in hole in the wall you would be up to 22 miles approx. Make sure it hasnt rained too much before you go up there. If it has you may be riding through some swamp where miles of mudd is and deer trail. Henry's trail is a little hard to find because it has grown over. but to make it simple follow deer til you hit an overgrown jeep trail, go left follow trail you will see 3 deer trails going to the right take the 3rd one. the first 2 drop you into the woods. Keep following henry's for a long long time and you end up right on south trail. From there you can either climb south or go down south. Recommended Route: Deep lake to hole in the wall to deer path to henry's to south Other recommended trails in the same area: American Standard, Merli, Glen park, Jacobsburg tussey mtn, scotia

, from pa Summary: I ride thorpe every other week end, I've riden Moab 4 times. I have riden all over the country, and I have to admit that there is a trail at camelback which rivals all for technical terrain. This trail was made by mountain bikers not hikers or horse people, so it is for those who like technical mountain biking. Look out beginners. Other recommended trails in the same area: bradys lake, AS & DP jim thorpe, thornehurst

, from Pittsburgh PA Summary: We stoped at the bike shop at the base for diections and they gave us a map that opnly include jeep trails. The mechanic who looked like a rider obviously wasn't because he could not point us to singletrack (just said to us that there is some) However this trail kicked ass. Flat and twisting through meadows and pine forests eventualy droppin you into a neighborhood on the other side of MT. from camelback about 7-10 miles away easy to find your way back and worth it however 5 mile climb back to the cars. BUT it will be the first climb of the day after 20 miles. Our loop was 25 total and very easy but loads of enjoyment. Well worth a side trip from JIM THORPE ( 40 minutes away) Recommended Route: Pass Camelback ski area on your left and parkabout a mile up the hill the right in game land lot. Head in access road toward towers. stay right at the split and right again at rock with writng on it that says Swamp and Lake. stay on jeep road for a couple of miles until farmers field on the right. continue several hundred yards to singletrack on left (right after jeep road intersection) Follow single track and stay straight at all cross roads. Other recommended trails in the same area: JIM THORPE and all of its glory

, from Bethlehem, PA Summary: My first time on this trail was this past weekend. The fireroads are fairly easy to ride, but watch out for all the loose rocks on the fast downhill sections. Also watch out for the ATV riders. The single track section was moderate at first, but as you get into it, it gets a bit difficult. I was following someone who knew the trail, so in keeping up, I went over the bars 3 times in just the one section. Keep on truckin'! Recommended Route: See other reviews.
