Big Rock Trail

Very big rocks with cliffy sides and tight squeezes! Short but very fun with a big grand finale that takes you back to the fire road. Take a right to go back to your car.

Trail Directions
Off of 322,about 25mi east of Hershey. Pumping Station parking lot. Park in the lot but ride towards traffic on 322 about 100ft till you see a Hunt Safely sign. Take the fire road back for a while till you head up a steep incline and take the first left. You will head straight for a while a down a hill and you will enter a sandy, cleared area with powerlines. Don't take the fire road to the right, but find the tight squeeze through the rocks on the left. Stay on that trail. When you get your bearings after a few rides then you should take the other difficult trails that branch off.

Just a suggestion stay away from the place in june and july b/c the nearby camp doesnt allow mountain bikers and they control about 500 acres right around there, just a warning they get pretty serious too, I had the cops called on me once b/c I got a little lost.

Summary:
Great for almost any skill level biker. There are easy ways to ride this trail and there are more challenging ways as well. There are great rocks(7-8 ft.)for wheely dropping and a good many steep rolls. Great, fast riding and tricky maneuvering make this one of the best trails in Camp Mack. Good steep ending to finish off.

Recommended Route:
Take the same route as Shawn described....

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Horseshoe trail, Bart trail(leads off of HS).

Summary:
This is a quick thrill ride. Has a pretty gnar DH. there are some new lines being made that are only for the advanced rider. The main trail is intermediate level. You can do the whole loop in 15 min. This trail is also known as "split rock" or "beaver slide" depending on who you ask. It is part of the Camp Mack boy scout reservation, and therefore they ask that you not ride there in the summer months while camp is in session. There are plenty of other great trails in Camp Mack and the surrounding Game Lands.

Recommended Route:
Same as above

Other recommended trails in the same area:
e-mail me if you want to ride there or Mt.Gretna, I know every trail and ride them frequently and aggressivly. The Horshshoe Trail is a favorite.
