Cross Country Rider Summary: I raced this course this past weekend, and it was my first experience racing, so I did the beginner course (11 miles). The other reviews are correct about starting out on the fire road from the parking lot, but then it gets fun. There is a ton of climbing (~1300' for each course). If you ride the full 22 miles, it's over 2000' ascending. The single track is amazing. Quick, but still technical enough that you better be on your toes if you are at race pace. Overall great experience. Recommended Route: Race course. Maps at local bike shop in Wellsboro.

Cross Country Rider Summary: IMO seems to be more of a "roadies" course. Too much time spent on the dirt roads. The single track is pretty but is quite non-technical. The "big" downhill is basically a short, straight, steep, loose rock section that you simply ride the brakes to the bottom. The course can be an aerobic challenge if you push yourself on the roads. Recommended Route: .. Other recommended trails in the same area: ..

Cross Country Rider Favorite Trail: This one or Ole Bull Summary: I rode this trail many moons ago when I was fat and out of shape.... Very scary but very fun. A DEFINATE aerobic workout. Very technical and very phsyically demanding. I road it on a hardtail but would recommend full suspenion and disc brakes (for the stinger trail if you're like me and don't want to spend the rest of my picking bark and hay bail remnants out of my face). The Stinger proved my "set" has since shrunk since my younger years. The descent to finish up the first half of the trail is tons o' fun. The second half is very similiar to the first half. The first part is all uphill (+countless stream crossings so go when the water is warm) followed by a rollout across the mountain top the descending down another fun trail (name escapes). Regardless, It took me a full camelback + 5 cups of water in the fish place to recooperate during a cool spring day so go prepared and check out the ugly fish at the end!

, from Lawerenceville, PA Summary: Very nice trails. I rode these trails on Memorial Day. Very wet! The first 11 miles that the beginner racers ride is marked very well. The second 11 miles for sport and above didn't seem to be marked as well once you get to the top of the Left Straight Trail. I got a little confused on the gas lines but eventually found my way back onto the course. The second half of the course had a few large tress across the trail that I had to walk around. Other than that the trails are excellent. Not very technical, unless it's raining, and not very twisty. The single track is more of a point to point trail. Not the typical twisty trails I was used to in New Hampshire. But they are fun and can be very fast when they aren't wet. A nice challenging ride for all levels, especially the down hills. I only give this trail 3 stars because I personally like really twisty single track. Recommended Route: Follow the race course map from Country Ski & Sports
