Mosier Twin Tunnels Section - Historic Columbia River Parkway

Average Rating:    (2 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 2

Historic tunnels, viewpoints, scenery, photo ops, chance of death by rockfall, 2 miles of 5% downhill at one end. Fun for all ages. Scenic family ride.

This is the Mosier Twin Tunnels section of the Historic Columbia River Highway. It's about 5 miles of paved 16' blacktop tucked above the freeway down at the Columbia River below.

It starts at the Mark Hatfield West Visitor Center and Trailhead, climbs up to a bench, then climbs and descends to the historic Twin Tunnels. From there it descends to the Mark Hatfield East trailhead at the hamlet of Mosier, up the river about 5 miles.

Summary:
I rode this on a 1950's cruiser with a bent wheel. My wife was on a murray. Good times rolling down hill with the wind in your hair.
All paved. Very stroller worthy. A perfect place for an urbanesc family cruise with your grandmother.

Recommended Route:
It's probably in pamphlets for hood river and the Gorge.

Mtb trails? Post canyon for the freeriders. I haven't gone anywhere else yet.

Summary:
Not a mountain biking trail. This trail is more suited for town bikes or pushing a stroller.
