Summary:
THis trail is AWESOME great freeride and north shore type stuff, alos some nice downhills. A lot of the stuff here is above my skill level. but it is still very fun. there are more then one trail in this place they all peal off the road and very in length.

Recommended Route:
before you do anything, go to the local bike shop Discover bikes. and buy a map of the place. When you get there, eather park at the bottom and ride up the gravil road, or shuttle up to the top. but dont ride up the trails, trust me, its hard. when you get to the top ride what ever trail fits your skill level. But be carefull not to get lost on any of the dirt bike trails.

Summary:
These trails are pretty sweet. You can also ride a bunch of North Shore style obsticles that some highly motivated folks have built. Some of them are pretty sick. Some nice single-track and some short climbs. Watch out for motorcycles in the area to. Have fun and be safe.

Recommended Route:
I mainly ride the main loop through Post Canyon that is discribed in John Zilly's Kissing the Trail guide book for Northwest and Central Oregon which I highly recommend. I believe it's about 8 or 9 miles. Check with Discovery Bicycles in Hood River for the book or info.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Syncline, Buck Creek (WA side) Knebal Springs and 8 Mile south of Hood River.

Summary:
Hood rivers version of the North Shore done up with that special flare for the scary. Try Frankenstein. Bring your body armor.

Recommended Route:
From the parking area at the end of Post Canyon Rd. head strait up the gravel road, way up. The road will make a sharp left turn and top out within a quarter mile. Pull over in the wide spot and look for a trail on the left side of the road. bomb down this trail and keep an eye out for a small side trail on your left. This is the start of Frankenstein, the most advanced trail in the system. Obsticals range from 5-15 foot drops to very narrow landings on the steep face of a washout.

Summary:
Post Canyon has some great trails that a good range of riders can use. I see families on the trails below and huckers on the upper trails. Some nice stunt work, lots of time goes into it so ya better respect it. There is a nice road gap (about 7 ft high and 15 feet wide) that lets you launch over a truck if you want to. There was until recently a 16 foot drop off a sweet long bridge that got nearly 20 feet off the ground. This place is like our little north shore playground. Ride hard!
