Weekend Warrior Summary: Just did the trail this last weekend. Looks like it was cleared once though since than about 6-7 more big trees have come down over it. No problem getting over them though kinda hurts the flow. Forgot how tough this trail is when it's wet. You have to be on your A-game due to many very slippery as snot roots. Kinda of a bummer to see that some guys are cutting new lines around the root sections because they lack the skillz. This isn't good for the trail nor mt. biken acceptance. Nuff said, great trail, very technical and all doable on the way up except for one, maybe two hits if you're on your A-game. All ridable on the way down if you're on fire. Also, from the parking lot at the bottom of the trail, climbing up the dirt swath directly from the lot and you'll see more single track that will take you another couple miles of flowy single track with minimal tech. Enjoy, I hear there's more single track in this area though don't know it. Have fun. Recommended Route: Trail up and trail down, road climbing ruins it I think. It is technical though so if you're into technical climbing you'll be in heaven. If not, guess the road would be good for ya. Make sure and go the extra little bit up the gravel road at the top to get the big 360 view. Bikes are allowed on the gravel road. Some old ladies get confused and may yell at cha cause other single track off of the upper gravel road are closed to bikes. Just orient them to reality and accept their demented state. Poor ol'dears.

Weekend Warrior Summary: One hell of leg burning, lung bursting 3000 foot climb. Not too steep, but unrelentless uphill switchbacks all the way up. Rideable in all but 1 place. The view at the top and the descent down North ridge make it worth the pain. Recommended Route: Drive up woods creek to the gate. Ride the gravel road to conners camp, ride east ridge up, recover, north ridge down. Other recommended trails in the same area: McDonald Forest rules...

Cross Country Rider Summary: The milder sibling of the North Ridge trail, East Ridge starts at Conner's Camp, about halfway up Mary's Peak. The climb is not technical, but you do gain some altitude and a, generally, spectacular view from the top. Weather is highly inclemental on this mountain--the highest coast range peak at just over 4K feet)--so be prepared.
The ride down is pretty sweet and can be very fluid after a sprinkle of rain. It's mostly easy, with a couple spots of potentially costly exposure, but nothing a novice can't handle. Recommended Route: Conner's camp to the top. Other recommended trails in the same area: North Ridge if you're serious. Mac Forest if you want endless variety.

, from corvallis Summary: This is a fun, relaxing out and back climb. It is an intermediate climb, and an easy descent. The view and vegetation are wonderful, and the view from the summit is outstanding. Recommended Route: Forest service road 112 to east ridge up to the summit. Other recommended trails in the same area: Northridge trail, also Mary's Peak right in the same area.
