Lost Creek Reservoir Loop

About 22 miles of easy to intermediate riding. Some rocky sections but all are manageable. The only tricky part is finding the trail again at the half way point. You have to get back on hwy 62 headed south to cross the bridge. Keep a sharp eye out for the trail which climbs back off the road sharply to the right. Once there, you begin to contend with hikers on sections of the trail which are paved. That ends after the marina and campground area. You get back on single track again until you go under the gate and cross the gravel road on top of the dam itself. It's pretty easy to find your way around because the trail never strays far from the lake. Takes about 3.5 hours if you really take your time or are riding with a large group. 2.5 hours with a little more motivation.

Summary:
I rode this trail June 28, 2008
Still a fun ride, the trail is in good shape and the 30 or so bridges are in good order.
I missed the cut off to cross the dam, and rode down the road and back up the hill to the car.
It was 22 miles the long way, I could see it cutting 2 miles off going across the dam.
It took about 2 hours at average speed of 11 mph.
The trail is much wide then the Applegate lake loop, a little more room for error on this trail.
Only one get off and push, area, because of the round river rock in the trail, about 100 feet.

Recommended Route:
Park car at north boat ramp.
At the other end at the big bridge after you crossed the bridge go about 300 to 400 feet and look for a trail that cuts at a shape angle up the bank, you will have to turn 180 degrees to get on the trail.
Keep riding in the park and close to the lake to get to the dam.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Applegate Lake loop
Elk Lane

Summary:
This ride is fairly level with a couple of short climbs.Iwould consider this trail easy to intermidiate. Plenty of good places to haul ass but some foot traffic on weekends.Watch for rattle snakes in the summer. You can stop for ice cream at the marina on the east side of the lake. There is a side trail with a sign that says to grotto, theres a cool waterfall and cove around one mile up. I would recomend this trail for any level of mountain biker.

Recommended Route:
.park at the boat ramp on the n/w side of the lake. I recomend riding this ride counterclockwise. the trail is pretty easy to follow.By riding this direction you leave the best ten miles of singletrack for last. You should get a map but there are some pretty detailed signs along the way.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Aplegate lake trail, all the trails in the ashland watershed area
