Summary:
falls city trails in the blackrock unit contains approximatly 1000 acres adopted by the black rock freeride assoc. in 2002. it is managed by ODF and they have given us the great privelige to miantain and build freeride trails or if someone capable of constucting trails of there flavor, only after contacting the BFA. you can do so at blackrockfreeride.org the trails are coming along great with ladders, skinnys, drops, road gap and lots of dirt jumps. and theres always a way around. theres a wide range of skill level. put it on your schedule garanteed a great time.

Recommended Route:
stop at santiam bicycle in salem and buy a blackrock map for $5 which goes to bfa for trail construction its not cheap buying tools and nails.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
none in area othr than dallas

Summary:
I live in Corvallis and went to Fall City to check out this place, seeing as how it was a nice day and knowing that it wasn't going to stay that way for very long.

Santiam Cycles, where I purchased my latest rig, gave me a map (upon request) to the place. Despite having been drawn on a piece of paper by hand it actually turned out to be a pretty good map.

The route up was easy, utilizing a gravel road which never got too steep. If you're a x-country rider you'll find it to be a piece of cake.

I noticed trails crossing the road at several spots. Exploring them on the way up I discovered some pretty sick stunts. The whopper was a 20 ft drop off of a rock face followed by a huge ramp built from a stump. There were also log rides, skinnies, and smaller jumps.

I coincidently met Stevie and Dean (the last posters before me) at the top of the Bonzai Downhill trail. I followed them down. Stevie was the man, making everything look easy. He was popping front wheelies on some pretty steep stuff and nailing drops that would have driven his mom to commit crimes against humanity in order to prevent him from ever riding them again.

I'm mostly a trail rider, and opted out of the more technical stuff. The way the trails are built makes it easy to option out of the gnarlier sections if you want to. If you're an aspiring freerider this is a good place to go to improve your skills. It seems to have a little bit of everything except for gaps.

Recommended Route:
There's really only one way up (gravel roads). Talk to the boyz at Santiam Cycles in Salem about a map. As far as I could tell, there are only two or three trails heading down. One was called Bonzai Downhill and another was called Gnar or something like that. The start of both are well marked. Be kind to the trails. A group of freeriders have put a lot of effort into building these trails with the permission of the landowners. Don't ruin it for everyone by trashing the place.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
I gave the overall rating a 4 instead of a 5 just because there don't seem to be a lot of trails and because I'm more of a trail rider than a freerider. Perhaps I'm also spoiled by McDonald forest, which has tons of trails and is where I mostly ride. If you love riding technical stuff, however, McDonald forest has nothing on this place.

Ohh yeah! My cousin Stevie and I met up with the boys from Team Crazy and had a blast. With Stevie setting the pace, you know your in for a sick ride. Pulled off the rock drop and the last ladder drop. Had to ride with front brake only due to hydrolics prob's (no bleeder kit). What a rush. Caused me to pick up a pair of 661's. and a bleed-kit. I luv my Switch!

Summary:
Good, fast up'n'down with lots of chances to kill yourself if you want to, but still possible to be ridden by someone who only *thinks* they know what they're doing. Jumps, drops, logs...they're all here, but as it's described, you don't HAVE to hit all of them (but if you're not going to try at least some of it, why ride at all?) It's impossible to find a map of the trail, but easy to find someone to show you. Just go to one of the shops in the area and ask. Jon's Bicycle Station, Santiam Bicycle, and any other shop worth a crap between Salem and Corvallis knows where it is. Just remember to treat the trail and the locals with respect, or you may end up in a shallow grave (and NOT due to the locals..we're tired of losing our trails). Rating: 5 of the fattest knobbies you can find

Recommended Route:
Find someone who knows the way and tag along. If you can huff it to the top, it's more fun getting to the bottom.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
If it's a trail in the same area that you can't find on your own that someone is willing to show you, it's worth going to ride it.
