Green Ridge

Out and back (Approx. 10 miles total). Ride starts with a climb from 3600 ft. to a little over 5000 ft. It is easy to navigate by following the yellow diamonds on the trees. The trail switches back through the tall pines and manzanita until it reaches the ridge top. Climb becomes more gradual with a few technical rocky sections. The last 1/2 mile stretch is relatively flat with the pine turning to thick fir. The ride ends when the trail begins turns back towards the east and begins to head downhill. Take the time to hike the last 300 yards to the top of the ridge for an awesome multi-peak view.

Summary:
Its a bit early to ride this trail all the way through. I had to navigate over several snow drifts at the 4.4 mile mark in the areas in the thick timber east of the ridgetop. There are 4 or 5 fallen trees over the trail, some can be ridden around. This trail offers a good conditioning climb and a fast downhill but doesn't have all the elements of a great ride. Ticks were out, found serveral on my clothing once I returned to the parking lot.
