Out and back hill climb, less than six miles and a not quite 2000 feet to the top. Gradual climb for the first 3 or 4 miles, then steeper and more technical
East on Hwy 126 from Springfield. Right at McKenzie River Drive (past Blue River, before McKenzie Bridge), go about a mile, turn right across Belknap Covered Bridge, left at stop, about 100 yards to trailhead on right.
Summary: This is a thigh burner, but very rideable all the way up ... save that one rock. There were also two tight switches I had to unclip for, but heck, I'm no expert. Two of us clocked it at just over 4 mi and 2050ft. to the road, so it ain't trivial. Very scenic, peek at Sisters peaks just after the trail widens, before it hits the road. And oh, that downhill! The only mud is at the beginning, folks.

Summary: As described more fun than any of the other trails I rode in the area. Makes a easy fun shuttle or ride the trail up and down.
Recommended Route: as desribed do not waste time riding up the road

Ridden Trail: Every few months

Summary: I ride this trail as much as I can. There is snow from the clearcut up now (December). This has a little bit of everything. Nice, gradually climbing, forested first few miles(good for beginners and even kids. When you get to the clearcut, the trail steepens and goes to doubletrack for a little bit. Cross the road and the real fun begins, this trail has some of the best switchbacks around, and its all rideable. Take a break at the top and let the fun begin.
Recommended Route: bottom to top and back
