Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Downhiller Summary: Near Applegate Lake. To find the trail, look for it on the East side of the road. It has a sign but it's easy to miss. It is about 1.5 miles north of the dam. Park on the side of the road because there is no trailhead parking.
Take the Mule Mountain fork after .5 miles. The first few miles (maybe 2) are good. The problem is that the trail isn't well maintained. You'll be pushing the bike to a large degree uphill. Once you find yourself on the edge of the mountain with great views, this is the time to think about going back down. The shrubs and poison oak are bad(did I mention poison oak!) and get worse. I did a loop with Mt. Baldy trail and the Mule Creek trail. Forget Mule Creek Trail, it was a mess, mosquitos, and overgrown. Recommended Route: see above Other recommended trails in the same area: cook and green is long and fun.
Stein Butte is fun
