Out and Back if you decide to ride the trail, otherwise can do a loop with the paved fireroads. Personally, I like the out and back its short but a bitch of a climb and the downhill is screaming fast coming down. To be concise its a hard technical climb up and a fast roller coaster down one of the most fun i have had (on a trail)

Summary:
Great ride through second growth and old growth Douglas Fir, Hemlock, and Cedar. This trail is old and worn by weather sad to say. I remember riding this trail in the 70's on a motorcycle. It was in great shape but now has given it's life to the elements of harsh westside rains. If riding from the bottom up, you will encounter a gradual yet constant climb for about two miles. The trail takes a steeper approach to the top from this point. Though it seems to flatten a bit, it is still a climb. Once to the top, 180 yourself and lower your seat. You are in for about a twelve minute decent. Lack of technical difficulties allows you to turn it loose. Hang on, some corners will sneak up on you and some of the creek crossings are over the trail. Watch out for the wooden bridges too if it's wet....greasy..A nice workout, not too demanding, but for those demonstrating no fear, the downhill rocks. Happy Trails. Kevin

Recommended Route:
For hardcore riders, follow the directions from the previous post. Or, pass the first road beyond the bridge on FS 21 and go another quarter to half mile to a paved road on the right. Park your vehicle on the left of 21 at the powerhouse road then grind about four miles to the trailhead via pavement. Sweet four mile decent to the gravel road. Go right and back to your vehicle.

Summary:
Good fitness ride near Oakridge. Not a lot of technical challenges but the trail is rotted away on a couple of sections. There is a good loop if you want to connect to Larrison Creek with a little bit of logging road grinding. I've taken some beginners on this one and if they are fit enought to handle the climb, it works well for them, if not I guess you could shuttle them and then try to repent some other time

Recommended Route:
bottom to top and back, good shuttle ride for those who need that sort of thing, please don't skid or slide.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Middle Fork, Larrison Creek, Moon Point, Windy Lakes
