Ridden Trail: Ridden Once

Racer Summary: The recommended route that the other guys mention is probably the best. I started at Camp Creek and did Still Creek Trail, which was more like a few min. not a few miles. Connected with Still Creek Road, which was boring. When I got up to Govt. Camp I just connected with Crosstown then to Pioneer Bridle. Those two trails are fun, not challenging (except for a couple spots), mostly smooth and all down (again, except for 2 spots). Over all it was fun but not enough to it. If you like to just go down then this is your bag, but I'm more of a xc guy. I need more rocks and roots and the juicy stuff. The downhilling is definitely fun but i did the whole loop from Camp Creek in total time of 2 hours, including a 15 min. stop to talk to some chic. But its definitely worth doing a couple of times a year.

Ridden Trail: Every few months

, from Portland Summary: My favorite route is to park at Camp Creek (near mile 32 on highway 26). Immediately behind the little parking area is a bridge that leads to the Still Creek Trail. This is fun winding single track that meanders through a forest for a few miles and then drops you out on the Still Creek Forest Road. The Forest Road climbs gently for about 10 miles parallelling Still Creek. Take this up to Trillium Lake and pass through Still Creek Campground. This will take you to Highway 26. Turn left and ride for about 1/4 mi and cross the highway. From here you have a choice: (1) if you're fealing really strong take the 6 mi ride up to Timberline Lodge and catch the Glade trail for a well-earned downhill that connects you with Crosstown; (2) if you're not feeling that strong but want just a little more uphill, head over to the ski area and ride straight up until you hit Crosstown; (3) if you just want to get to the downhill, head down 26 about 1/2 mi to the Glacier Snowpark (this is where Crosstown ends). Anyway you ride it you end up at the Snowpark. From here, take Crosstown to the Pioneer Bridle Trail. PBT is almost all downhill, so be prepared to work the brakes a little. It's a great ride with some straight shots and a bunch of switchbacks that ends up back at Highway 26. Cross 26 (carefully) and catch the trail again on the other side and follow it back down to Camp Creek CG. Get in your car and go to the bar of your choice. Recommended Route: Tim, right above me, has it nailed. There are any number of ways to ride these trails. Other recommended trails in the same area: They're all pretty damn good. Although it's not quite in the same neighborhood, everyone should ride Surveyor's Ridge. The Dog River Trail is over there too--fun downhill.

Ridden Trail: Once a year

, from Portland Summary: My review, a big 10. The Cross Town, Pioneer, and Still Creek trails are all beautiful single track. The Still Creek road to Still Creek Campground leg is about a 10 mile climb -- nothing steep, just continuous. Do this loop only if you are feeling fit. I'd also suggest starting at Camp Creek. This way, you'll get the climb over with at the start. The rest of the ride is excellent single track that is (mostly) a gentle down-hill. There are some steep, sketchy, rocky descents with switch backs. Yummmm! Recommended Route: Will's descriptions starts off on the Glade trail from the Timberline Lodge. This is a really great down hill, but not necessary to access the Cross Town trail. The top of the Cross Town trail can be accessed at that little Snow Park at the east end of Government Camp on HWY 26. Other recommended trails in the same area: All the good ones :^).
