The Craiter

Average Rating:    (2.83 of 5)

No. of Reviews: 6

It is a dried out lake, so it is basically just a bunch of jumps, but some are incredibly steep downhill. There is also about 1/8th of a mile of trail that is more intense than anything I have ever done. The Craiter is jsut a place where you can do some really fast downhill, any skill level can do it,

Trail Directions
You want to go east on Lindsay as far as you can, then take a left, then travel untill you see a housing building that says Eagle Landing, you turn into it, and go straight, look for a playground -- the playground has a paved path, which you follow, it will become dirt and lead you into --the craiter--

Summary:
I actually rode with my old hybrid. Very small and designed more for BMX. The taller hills are getting a bit eroded but still ridable. Overall, a good work-out if you want it to be.

Recommended Route:
No problem getting there. North on Crestland until it dead-ends.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Clearbay.

Summary:
Kinda shocked to see this in a mountain bike section. Had seen it several times and ridden it once. I call this a BMX playground not a mtb trail. Decent drops for being a mile from the house, but overall it rates somewhere in the 1-2 area if you have ridden any of the decent trails here in oklahoma. For a BMX rider it might get a little higher rating, but i will not try to act like I know anything about BMX.

Recommended Route:
From intersection of 12th St. and Alameda go east to Crestland take a left (north) and go to the end. The paved path leads past the playground equipment to "The Bowl".

Other recommended trails in the same area:
New Draper, Clear Bay

Summary:
I question that it is for geginners. I am a newby and was a little intemidated by the drop offs. Never the less it is a good place to start to gain experience. It is more for BMX. I give it a 4 for a newbie and a 2-3 for a BMXer.

Recommended Route:
I must admit that I was more motivated to find this place than to ride it. I have never encountered more convoluted and contridictory directions in my life. i hope for three things:
1. The three young people who gave the directions do not get lost.
2. They ride better than they write. If not they need training wheels
3. They are not a product of the local school system If so we are in real trouble.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Clear Bay,

me and a couple of my friends are the ones who build the jumps there. it iss all dirt. it is a dryed up lake that is in the shape of a bowl. that's what we call it. the "bowl". it is kinda bumby but any one can ride around. there are some very steep hills you can get speend on. that's why we build jumps there. come check it out.

Recommended Route:
go east on alemeda un til you come to a housing edition on you left right before a kinder care. the go all the way down that street until you see a playground and then follow the trails behind the playground.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
go west down alemeda until you come o a big orange billboard with a spider on it. behind that billboard there is a little forest type thing. go into it and there our some 4ft big double jumps out there.
