Rocks, creeks, hills, hills, hills, & more hills. This place is insane. I would say this is by far the best place 2 ride in Oklahoma. If you think Turkey Mt. is good then this will BLOW YOUR MIND! You cant get much closer 2 Colorado riding than this. The only bad thing about these trails is that it is kinda hard 2 tell where they are. Not a lot of people ride them probably because not many people know about it. The next time you take a trip 2 ride some where in Oklahoma go 2 CLAYTON! you wont regret it i promise. p.s. you will have 2 carry your bike a little more than normal, but i promise that you wont regret it.

Summary:
The previous review is spot on with the hill and description. But its basically a jeep road and only that. No single lane or anything nice to look at. Its good for training for hills. Not sure why it compares to Turkey hill?

Summary:
I was looking for a place to ride while at a family event at Sardis lake. I am training for the Leadville 100 and I needed hills and I found them. Anyone in town can tell you or just search Flagpole rd in Clayton. Its just a few blocks west of Downtown Clayton. Its about a 8 mile run up a logging road to the top where the Ranger lookout tower is. Right off you start a 3 mile climb that has some grades over 21% but averages out about 9% according to my Garmin. It flattens a bit and has a few mild down hills for a couple of miles then you hit a 2.5 mile climb to the that is about a 10% average with several spots in the 18 to 20%. The ride back down in intense the road has lots of loose dirt rock and gravel as well as big rain ruts. If your looking for a longer route, I just did the route a couple of times each day to get in 30 miles, you will see on a map a road just before the top that shoots off to the right that if you follow it out I am told goes about 40 more miles. You can see the roads via google earth or any satellite web map. I did take a coupe of logging roads that shoot off the main road and there are some killer technical trails off in the woods, I plan to hit next time with GPS, to make sure I find my way back out. It has some very colorado like climbs, but being from Texas its low enough that I did not have to worry about altitude issues. Its a must ride if you are in the area.

Recommended Route:
Flag Pole rd all the way to the top, or spin off on some of the many side trails you will see on your way up. you can also take the road off to the right at the top of the hill and add several miles to your ride There is a Jeep recreational area right at the base of the start, the owner let me park for free since I was going to take a jeep out on his trails, I threw $5 in his pay box anyway.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
None only been there once but planning another trip soon
