Lake View Lodge Mountain Bicycle & Hiking Trail
3 reviews
 3.67 of 5

Newly created in May 2005. There are 3 loops of wide and fast singletrack (could be termed doubletrack because of width). Longest loop is <7 miles, shortest a little over a mile. Smooth and fast. Can catch air on trail in some sections. Not too much for climbs. Novice to intermediate riding level. Also crosses or junctions with Indian Nation Trail. Scenic views of Broken Bow Reservoir. Hiking trail too. Camping nearby. No fees.

Summary:
Rode this trail 8-6-09. Great trail for beginners. I took my daughter and she was able to make most of the hills. Shes still working on being in the right gear for climbing. The first loop is very short (0.4 mi) but fun ridden fast. The second loop does get a little harder and there are more rocks but a begginer can still make it. the third loop started to get to the intermediate level with its hill climbs. We did not finish the third loop as my daughter ran out of gas. The tral is plenty wide and packed, it is a dirt rock mix and gives plenty of traction. There are also plenty of views of the lake on the first two loops. If your lucky you might see white tail deer as well.

Overall its a great trail for beginners. loop 1 & 2
Fun for intermediates. Loop 1, 2 & 3 (fast)
Experts may find it boaring with no real challenges or big air.

look for ticks after ride in summer. I found two small ones on me.
Fun ride if your in the area.

Summary:
THIS IS A GREAT TRAIL. A LOT OF THOUGHT WAS PUT INTO THE LAY OUT. THE BUILDERS LEVELED THE GROUND AND GAVE PLENTY OF WIDTH TO THE TRAIL. THE TERRAIN IS MILD AND BEGS TO BE RIDDEN FAST. LOTS OF BEAUTIFUL VIEWS OF THE LAKE. I CAN'T WAIT TO RIDE THIS TRAIL AGAIN, DEFINITELY WORTH THE DRIVE.

Recommended Route:
THE TRAIL IS EASIEST AND FASTEST IF YOU GO TO THE RIGHT AT THE SIGN. BOTH DIRECTIONS ARE A LOT OF FUN.

Ridden Trail:
Once a week

Summary:
I live 20 minutes from this trail and usually ride it about three times a week. Very rocky, bring an extra tube. One rock garden in particular has bit several of my tires. Never crowded, I've only ever seen two other people on the trail. MANY ticks in the summers! Great views of the lake and you can ride down to it and jump in to cool off. The state is supposed to add another 10 mile loop this winter(06). Should make for a really nice ride.

Recommended Route:

You can go either way. Going left at the sign if easier with one small climb and more downhill, right at the sign more uphill. Both fun. Going both ways make for a nice ride.
