Bluff Creek (Lake Hefner)

Very tight trail. Thick trees with quick turns. A few very short but very steep hill climbs. Some roots that may require riders to dismount. No impossible climbs. Beginners will waqnt to take it really slow

Trail Directions
Take the Hefner road exit off Grand. Take a left and follow Hefner about 1.5 miles. This will take you behind the dam. After passing a treatment plant on the right you will come to a stop light with a park on your right. Turn right at the light and then take an immediate left into the park. There is a foot-path that heads west with a trail breaking off to the right immediately after you cross the foot bride. This trail will take you through a fence and to the trail head.

Summary:
I'm from New England. Mountain biking is much different mostly in the form of mountains and granite. I'm a down hill skier that loves to ski in the trees. This trail is awesome. It is about as close as I can get to skiing. It requires good use of balance and eyes focusing on the lines between the trees. Good workout and fun!

Summary:
It’s an awesome and fun trail, especially since it’s in the city (and for me close to home). There’s a little bit of everything on this trail - roots, tight turns, bridges and drops. Thanks to OEF, its well maintained. Great workout if you ride hard.

Summary:
Great trail. Is only 4 miles long, but a lot of fun. Can be ridden slow (30 min. laps) for a easy ride. Or fast (21 min) for a real aerobic / techical work out. Good trail for all skill levels.
Lots of roots, short drops, bridges, tight section, and a few fast sections. Lots of fun in a short trail.
Trail sees a lot of use by bikes and trail runners. Also needs 48 hrs. to dry after heavy rain.

Recommended Route:
One way trail. Map at TH (gravel parking area next to Meridan)

Summary:
OEF does a real good job keeping this trail rideable. I give it a 4 for techical because of the rooty ups and downs with switch-backs. I am used to steeper climbs, so I never change gears. If you are a beginner, do this trail, just ride it slower. I spooked a hiker last weekend, but she will survive. If you experienced, blast through it 3 times. I lost count of how many bridges in the first 3 minutes of the ride. 5 I think. Cheers
