Easy to ride trail suitable for beginners. Singletrack trails through wooded area (plenty of shade). Three looping trails make your ride anyware from 1.5-4.5 miles. Beware the sand!!

Summary:
Did this trail yesterday. Definately the best IMO around the Oklahoma City area. Have done Bluff Creek and NuDraper, but ClearBay takes the cake; worth the drive to Norman if you are in OKC. Gold loop is fun and more technical than Red Loop at Draper. Not very crowded as the other local trails either and I went on a Saturday.

Recommended Route:
All of it

Other recommended trails in the same area:
NuDraper or Bluff Creek

Summary:
There have been many changes since 2006 which is when the last review was posted. I used to feel the same way about the flow as the last person posted, but it has changed to be much more fun these days. The sand is down to a minimum now which helps. There are a lot more man made features, such as a log ride(thats do-able without getting seriously hurt if you fail, unlike the one at Draper), teeter, bridges etc. Though Draper has a few sections with a little better flow, its much better than Draper in my opinion, mostly due to the Gold Loop. The Gold loop has a new section of drops and bridges that adds a LOT to the trails, its a lot of fun! Has a great flow to it, and pushes you to ride it faster each time! If you start at the main lot and ride it all, its around 18 miles, but there are outs so you dont have to do that much at once.

Recommended Route:
Definatly the Gold Loop. If you go out here, its a must to really see what its all about. Lots of technical and challenging spots, but you can bypass or walk past all of them... If you start at the main lot and ride all of the loops out here, its around 18 miles, but there are outs so you dont have to do that much at once. If you want to only ride the Gold, drive a mile further east on Hwy 9 to the other park entrance, and the trailhead directly to Gold is just on the left.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Draper is great, but this is more fun in my opinion.

Summary:
This is a trail of wasted opportunity. Though it is a fun place, it has no flow to it! There are switch backs thrown in just for the sake of? As soon as you get going fast, there is a s/b. I like the sand because it is good challenge to corner in. As i ride this place i am constantly seeing new lines for new trails that would add some REAL technical difficulty to this place. Some man made stunts taking advantage of terrain features would be a big +, overall though, not to bad of place. Posting a review here makes me label myself as a specific type of rider. I ride it all!

Recommended Route:
Jumping off the side of table rock

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Drraperrr

Summary:
Clear Bay (lake Thunderbird) is a good place to get some climbing and technical skill under your belt. The first few times you ride this trail it would be wise to go with someone that knows the trails. There are quite a few places that fork off without signs, but you figure them out quickly after riding a few times. If you do go by yourself you might find that a 13 mile loop can quickly change to 18 or 19 just because of trying to find your way back. There's a little more sand than I'd like, but it does serve a purpose to help drain the place after Oklahoma storms. If you decide to go out there, make sure to pack a power bar, enough water in your camel back, and a good bug spray. The small seed ticks can be thick... For intermediate and experienced riders the Gold loop is a good time. It has good climbing and some technical areas (ie... crazy daves run, the creek drops, the very nice totter, and my favorite is quadzilla.)

Recommended Route:
Hwy 9 east to Lake Thunderbird entrances.... Can't miss it.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Nu Draper, 12 MOH

Summary:
This trail is fun! It is a great place to throw it in the big ring and hammer. There are some climbs (more than I suspected), especially to table top, but they are short. The trail system is very well marked with lots of bail out points. Make sure you visit the teeter-totter and Quadzilla. If this trail had existed when I was going to OU, I never would have gone to class!

If you are looking for a super-technical suffer fest, this isn't for you. If you are looking to have a great time on the fat tires, check it out.

Recommended Route:
Follow the loops (very well marked). Posted "you are here" maps at several locations.
