Arcadia Lake Mtn Bike Trail

Nothing difficult here. If ridden hard, one can get a very good aerobic workout. All singletrack with some good semi-tight tree sections and some hills. A good beginner trail. This is not a loop.

Summary:
Everyone talks about the negatives about this trail...boring and sandy in spots, but you need to give it another chance. OEF did some work on it last year and I'm hoping will be allowed to do so again.

Follow my recommended route and you will enjoy the ride.

I do hope they keep the trail trimmed back this summer. I can cut some crap back with my bike tool to help out.

Recommended Route:
From 2nd street go all the way to the Park office lot. This is the far east end of the trail. Always take the first left from the lot to go down by the lake. I also veer left at the bottom of the 1st hill and ride across on the rocks a the water's edge.

Across the first road...take the fork to the right. Left is OK, but the north section here is the best part of the whole thing IMO. After the trails merge again, I just take left turns out and left turns back. You will probably have to walk your bike across the river/creek to the west side trails. I do the lefts out/lefts back here as well.

Heard burnout hill is cleaned up, but have not made it that far with all the rain we've had. To the river and back on my route is a 1 hour trip if you are moving.

Summary:
This is a nice singletrack that is a great training tool if you know how to use it. Like everyone says it is good to get someone started in MTB-ing but an advanced rider can also get use out of it by using it as a training tool for endurance. Ride it faster and it gets even better.

Why does everyone complain about sand? Sure it it difficult to ride but so are steep climbs to some but you don't see someone whining about climbs being too steep at other trials. I think most of the bad reviews are unjustified. Just because it doesn't have "monster" climbs or "awesome" downhills that you can "rail" on doesn't mean it is apiece of crap.

I think they should require someone be old enough to drive before they can post a review of some of these trails.

Recommended Route:
From the office, go left at the first turn if you want some more challenging climbs and rocks

Other recommended trails in the same area:
All the OKC trails are great in their own way. Bluff Creek, Technical; NuDraper: beginner to advanced;

I did not like this trail. This is not even a beginners trail. It was WAY too sandy, so there was almost no speed through the corners.

This trail is amazinglly WEAK, i swore to myself i'd never go out there again but it way close to me. If you hall balls you'll get a very sandy workout but watchout for old rusted wire in the middle of the trail to get tangled in...i got pissed and had more fun waling around in the woods to find big ass tree trunks to drag into the middle of the trail to add some excitement...i will continue this war with the trail..MsgtfrontdiscbrakeisWEAK

Summary:
Not too sandy after a rain. This trail isn't really technical at all. Just an out and back. Lots of stickers and things to puncture tires here too. For somebody like me who likes more climbing and technical stuff, I think this trail is pretty dull. But it would be an excellent place to bring somebody new to mountain biking. You also have to pay to ride this trail. I think the city of Edmond maintains it. They don't do nearly as nice of a job as the OEF does and all their trails are free to ride.

Recommended Route:
Start at main office

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Bluff Creek, NuDraper (post road), Clear Bay, Roman Nose, Turkey Mtn.
