Cross Country Rider Summary: This is a 2 mile loop, designated for mtb's. I asked at the cabin office about their trails, and they said that there was only one bike trail. I noticed that several trails were marked hikers only.
This is a very good trail if you like rocks, as the entire two miles is pretty much a moderate rock garden. Some mild climbs, spectacular scenery at the bluffs, and what seems like more downhill than uphill. The climbs are fun with the rocks, it was challenging to pick and stay with a line. If you get off the beaten path while in the pines, the ground gets soft in a hurry. Although short, it won't bore you for multiple laps. We combined this trail with a trip to the springhill trail, which is flat and fast. What a contrast. Recommended Route: Starts by the cabin office, and ends at the same place. It's a loop. Other recommended trails in the same area: Greenleaf. In my opinion, a very tough trail, if you do both loops. Springhill, a good place to take a new rider or go for an easy workout.
