Starts off kinda boring, but once you get past that part, the real fun starts. Trail is narrow single track with bridges crossing low areas, has short steep uphills and wonderful views of the marsh.

Summary:
Very conveniently located right by Mentor Headlands park. This trail is very secluded and is rarely has a handful of riders. It's a great single track ride and really tests your gear changing skills. The first time I rode this trail this year (April 18th 2011) it was still quite muddy and I ended up snapping off my deraillur due to the excess mud. No worries though, the mud just makes for a better workout. Two or three bridges are along this trail, you also cross over two streams and a killer stairwell. Plenty of tree roots and some minor jumps. The trail is about 60% level for the most part. Lots of fun to take a couple of fellow riders with you. The trail ends up leading you to a public pool with a concession stand to cool down after a nice ride. I highly recommend this trail to those who live within a 30 mile radius of it. I'm there quite often since I live about 30 miles away from it. If you and a couple of riders would like to join up with me sometime please feel free to email me phillybunt@hotmail.com Thanks, enjoy this trail, be safe and hope this review was helpful. Any other questions please feel free to ask.

Recommended Route:
From the south: Take 71 North to route 2 East. Get off at 44 North and take that all the way to the Headlands beach entrance, but make a left instead of going into the beach. The trail will be on a upgraded hill about half a mile once you make a left on your left side.

From the West: Route 2 East to 44 North and make a left before entering Headlands.

Locally: Just drive to headlands park, make a left before entering and the trail will be on your left about a half mile down.

Summary:
Lots of roots and mosquitos would best describe this trail. Not a bad trail if you live in the area, but wouldnt go out of my way to ride it. Bring mosquito repellant because the marsh breeds literally swarms of them on this trail. You will eat hundreds.
