Ridden Trail: Once a year

Cross Country Rider Summary: I honestly don't get what all the hype is about. It's been years since I was out there last, and remember it being much better maintained and a lot more interesting. You definitely have to keep your head together, but even the black diamond sections aren't that tough and I definitely don't consider myself an expert level rider. The trail and especially the stunts are showing a lot of wear. If you're coming from Cleveland or Columbus there are much better choices closer to home. If you need some variety, it's a pretty good bet if you don't mind the drive- just not deserving of all the hype from the older posts. (Notice that almost all of them are from many years ago.) Recommended Route: Do the novice (yellow arrows) if you're nursing a hangover, otherwise follow the pie plates and the red arrows. Other recommended trails in the same area: Closer to Cleveland and equally good or better: Findley State Park in Wellington; Reagan/Huffman in Medina; West Branch in Ravenna.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is the most technical trail in Ohio and I love it! I haven't been to the Knob since I raced it about 5 years ago. There are some new additions that are nice if you didn't know what they replaced. The pic at the top of this page was one of the coolest things to ride especially if you brought someone who has never been here before, but it is now closed... along with another of my fav sections close to the trail head that had 3 tabletops in a row as you fly downhill, those were a blast, but they are no longer either. The fast "powerline" section is great, I hit 26mph on a hardtail! And of course the "cradle" will ask you to run it numerous times. The trail is starting to show some use with exposed roots and random mud puddles here and there days after the last rain. Still worth the trip from C-bus! Recommended Route: I've never strayed from the main route, just stop and do the fun stuff a few times... oh, and when you get to the old round stone well take a look down there... someone put a toddler-sized doll down there and it's just sitting upright, I nearly shat myself... freaky! Other recommended trails in the same area: Can't go wrong with Mohican for some fast single track through the woods.

Cross Country Rider Summary: It is pretty intense of a trail. The entire trail is compact and there isn't much time to recover from one obstacle to the next. Over the past winter they did a lot of trail work, adding about another mile to it but at the same time they closed down a lot of parts to it. The Super D course has been closed and Killbuck is gone. They've added a short little rock garden type deal that has a nice little drop off to it and along with that there's a few short little downhills and also a VERY smooth downhill that they call the powerline. Technical parts include some pretty crazy W. Va switchbacks and downhills that have some pretty loose shale and rock.
It's fun to ride for the technical aspects but truthfully, if you want to go out and just have a casual ride and enjoy the scenery with some technical aspects and climbs I wouldn't exactly goto this trail. This is more of a technical trail, not a scenic trail. Everyone's pretty close together, but Still fun though.

Cross Country Rider Summary: This place is crazy. Great trail system with everything. You have to see it to believe it. You learn quickly that a trail can be made from anything, can go over anything, and that with a little thought just how much fun biking can be.
I came out here with two friends and my wife and we each had a great time. It is a great place to push your limits. Recommended Route: We rode the normal route and added the killbuck extension

Downhiller Summary: This trail is the best trail you will ever find in Ohio. I usually prefer downhilling but i figured i could give it a try. There are some killer downhills but also some of the hardest uphills i have ever seen. Being as lazy as I am, I walked up them. The people there are the nicest people you'll find at a mountain bike trail. I drove almost two hours to get there and it was more than worth the trip. This trail rocks! Recommended Route: follow the white pie plates with the red arrows on them. Other recommended trails in the same area: didn't see any
