Great singletrack trails to the left off of the bridle trail. Technically closed to bikers but everybody rides it and I've never heard of anybody getting ticketed. Lots of trees, log-jumps, roots, a few rocks, and a jump here and there. There's a few monster log jumps for you experts (I saw one guy hop over a log that had to be 18 inches around). Be respectful of the horses.
Rte. 480 to Grayton Rd. Go north on Grayton to Mastick Rd. Go left (west) on Mastick Rd. down into the Rocky River Reservation. Turn left at the traffic light. Park in the Mastick Rd. Picnic area. Locate trailhead between a pavillion and the river. Trail heads south.
Summary: I grew up riding in the metro parks in lakewood and rocky river. we've never had a great trail system but it does give you that off road fix you are looking for. i like starting at the mouth of the rocky river in lakewood and riding the bike path while looking for single track spurs. i usually turn around when i reach the old fiords/fishing spot near the rocky river hill.
we used to build features i nthe woods to find them destroyed by bird watchers and hikers a few days later, so don;'t even bother trying.
in my opnion, get a pass to Ray's and become a skinny riding expert, a lot more fun and challenging.
Recommended Route: lakewood hill to rocky river hill then back. follow bike bath looking for single track spurs.
Other recommended trails in the same area: old tri-c bmx, wait, that's been gone for years.

Well sort of, I'm sick of driving an hour just to find some good, and legal mountain bike trails, so I went on line and looked up some trail in the Cleveland metro parks, I found a few, but the thing is that there not legal, you get a fine of $100.00 plus court coast!
But I was need of a dirt fix so I hit the trails, I didn't get busted, thank Dog. But it dose piss me off that there are not any trails for mountain biking in the CMP, would it kill them to let CAMBA (www.camba.us) put and maintain one trail? They cater to all kinds of sports, Golf, Softball and Baseball, horse back riding, Jogging and hiking, Soccer, fishing, but noooo, not mounting biking, WTF?
But I did have fun, till my back tier blew out.

Summary: Great singletrack if you look for it...stay off the bridal trail to avoid rangers and horses...watch out for the drop offs as you get close to the river, it gets pretty tight!...if you continue down the paved exercise path past the nature center there is more technical riding to be found at cedar point hill, most of these trails are deer trails, but they are moderately challenging...just be mindful of the hiking trails you may come across!
Recommended Route: 480 to grayton rd., continue north on grayton, when it ends turn left down puritas hill, ...turn left again at bottom of hill...turn left into first driveway...and look for trailhead past the pavillion
Other recommended trails in the same area: none too close...west branch is an hour away, but worth the trip, very technical!!

Ridden Trail: Once a week

Summary: I used to ride this trail a couple of times a week until I moved out of Cuyahoga County. Pretty flat and can get muddy without a lot of rain but it's the only decent place to ride in the immediate area. You can find some challenges there and I have never had a problem with the park rangers.
Recommended Route: South of Puritas underneath the I-480 and Brookpark Rd. bridges or near the first ford (by Memorial baseball fields).
Other recommended trails in the same area: None on the west side of Cleveland
