, from Columbus Summary: The Ross Hollow trail was great! Technical, steep in sections, off camber. All you could want in a 3-4 miles loop. The Logan trail, on the east side of the main road wasn't worth the effort. There were numerous fallen trees that made riding difficult. Also, there were quite a few areas that were very overgrown with briars. You're arms and legs will look like they went through a meat tenderizer. But there is only one "designated" MTB trail. The rest are hiking trails that may or may not be legal to ride. According to all the other trail reviews, you can ride them, but the rangers might have another idea. Lake Hope is much better and even Scioto is a little more maintained then this trail. Recommended Route: From the parking lot below the dam, ride the designated MTB trail and then ride north, past the lake to the ross hollow trail. You can explore the Logan trail, although when I was there, there was a ton of blow downs, making the riding more like hiking. Other recommended trails in the same area: Scioto trail, Lake Hope

, from columbus, ohio Summary: The directions are WRONG. Route 56 doesn't hit 327 directly. You need to take 180S to 327.
Recommended Route: Park at lower damn, go UP the hill.

, from Dublin, OH Summary: Really tight trails. A few extended climbs, one has no rest spots in it. The down grades are fast but watch out for the section on the light blue trail that has 3 switch backs. Riding in the fall added another factor: the leaves made it a little slippery, but also covered up any obstacles. There were at least 5 fallen trees that had to be walked over, others were cut out or had ramps to get over. There are a few creek crossings, but nothing too difficult. It would probably help to have a map. I think they are located in the rangers office. Recommended Route: I started at the bottom of the dam, warmed up on the 2 mile (easy) "mountain bike" trail. I then headed up to the Fire Tower on the Logan Trail. The climb isn't that bad, coming back down is really fast and tight. Once you get to the fire tower, look for the light blue marked trails. This is a 6 mile loop that has everything. There are more trails, but I didn't get to ride them -look at a map. Other recommended trails in the same area: Lake Hope

, from Over Yonder, Ohio Summary: This is the TRUE definition of singletrack. The trail isn't real rocky but the 1' trail widths and off-camber turns will make you wanna wear body armor. The trail drys out quickly so it is good to ride most days. The hills mioght be too much for some beginners but you have to ride them sometime. Recommended Route: Start at the firetower and head east. Keep folowing the Blue dots to the dam and go across to Ross Hollow Loop. This trail will test your skills Other recommended trails in the same area: Get out there and RIDE!

, from Columbus, OH Summary: Fun, fast singletrack runs through trees in the lower part of the course, then climbs up and follows the ridge above the area. The scenery looks like the Pacific Northwest, not the midwest. The technical obstacles keep it interesting: roots, logs, rocks, etc. We stopped and did some twice. Crazy creek crossing: short vertical drop into creek immediately followed by start of a steep climb. Good luck maintaining speed into that climb. When we went there it was only about 1 1/2 miles long, but worth doing twice. Recommended Route: The COMBO built MTB trail is well marked. The Park Ranger told us to start above the dam, but you just end up riding down the dam past the closer parking spaces. Other recommended trails in the same area: After riding the short (but growing) designated MTB trail, we found the Ranger again to ask about other rides. After we got kind of buddy-buddy with him he reluctantly pointed us to the Ross Hollow trail. It starts in the camping area above the dam about 1/2 mile. I see why he was reluctant to send us on the hiking trail. Novice riders could damage this narrow technical trail that carves into the side of the hills. Side of hill = no mud. The narrow climb right at the start is worth the 4+ miles of WOW!
