Behind Lunken

Good Beginner trail. Watch out for quads though-dirt bikers, 4 wheelers, etc. use this trail as well. Rolling terrain along the little miami river ends along the banks of the Ohio river. You can see The Kentucky hillside across the river where the Tower Park Trail is located(check this trail out under KY trails). You can string together an 8-10 mile down and back loop depending on where you start and whether you ride upstream then back downstream etc.

Summary:
This is a good trail if you want to get used to riding off-road. It is best riddin in the summer after it hasn't rained for 2 or 3 weeks, the Little Miami River tends to overflow easily and the water just sits there. Their used to be some pretty big jumps off to the right, but I guess they were taken out a few years ago due to people injuring themselves or whatever. It's not really that hard if it's cleaned up but you can always add logs or debris to add to the excitement. If you hear a 4 wheeler coming, just pull over. I've never seen any but I heard they go down their sometimes.

Recommended Route:
Left or right its all good.

Summary:
First of all, I was told that there would be a concession stand with hot dogs and beer at the end of the trail. I couldn't find it. I almost didn't make it back because I was so exhausted from the ride. Twice during the ride I considered turning back because the trail was so treacherous. There were snakes all over the place. I never found any of these supposed hot chicks either. I only saw one other rider and she said she wasn't interested in short, sweaty bald men. I don't know how people can consider this to be a good trail. I found myself fearing for my life on several occasions while riding it.

Recommended Route:
None. Avoid

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Harbin Park, Hueston Woods

Summary:
ok for a change of pace ride. I went a few times and got COVERED in mud. This was even after allowing 1 week w/o rain. Guess it is due to the river bank. I went to hit a jump, but had to wash out cause I saw that my landing would actually be IN the river. When talking to others at Lunken, they had no idea of what I was talking about when I was looking for the trail. Just park at Farmers market and get the directions from other reviews. Going to the main park is useless. Very flat, really only worth it if you want a change of scenery. DO NOT GO IF IT HAS RAINED IN LAST 2 WEEKS, SERIOUSLY!!!!

Recommended Route:
same as others

Other recommended trails in the same area:
HARBIN, HUESTON, I need to try others still

Summary:
This is not a good place to ride if you are looking for a typical mountain bike trail. This is very flat and not challenging at all except for the fact the you have to petal a lot since it is nothing but a VERY flat trail that follows the river. This is however a good trail to ride if you are just looking for an easy ride and a great place to take someone that want's to mountain bike but is scared to try the harder trails.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Tower Park & Harbin Park

Summary:
Once you get on the trail you can go left or right. If you go to the right and follow the trail all the way down where the Little Miami and Ohio rivers meet there are a nice set of jumps(about 5 or 6). Overall it's a nice ride, I usually ride it twice a week.

Recommended Route:
Park at the parking lot near the main terminals right next to the farmers market. Get on the bike path and go back about 1 mile right when you get ready to make a left on the long straigt away in the back, you can cut down to the trail in that corner. It's kind of had to see the trail head but it's right behind the water cooler and bench.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Ault Park, Harbin Park, East Fork, Fort Thomas
