Weekend Warrior Summary: A little too twisty to enjoy the scenery, which winds through coulees and pasture land. You will travel through more cow $hit than you've seen in your life so fenders might be a good option.

Weekend Warrior Summary: This is a great trail for the area. Enjoyable late afternoon ride for beginners. My wife and I try to get out as often as possible in the summer as it is only a short distance from Minot. It is great that the land owners have allowed this excellent use of land. Also, the new extension is also great, just seemed hard to find last time we were there. Recommended Route: Same as other recommendations. Other recommended trails in the same area: None, unless you go to Jamestown or Bismarck, that's what makes this trail great.

Ridden Trail: Once a week

Cross Country Rider Summary: This is an excellent trail to bring the whole family. It does not have any difficult areas that cannot be easily negotiated around. This single track trail consists of eight miles of glaciated pasture. Enjoy the native flowers and glacial erratics along the trail. There are a few rocky sections and a few short climbs. The trail is fairly twisty and quite scenic. When I ride I feel as if I am going back in time, leave the pavement behind and enjoy the solitude.
Because this is a pasture you may come across a few cattle or horses. Don't worry about them, I have ridden here for two years and they are seldom on the trail when you are.
There is a possibility of expanding the trail another two miles, that would bring the total up to ten. The trail has been built to I.M.B.A. standards and should hold up for many years. I encourage you to come out and give the trail a try, I don't think you will be disappointed!!!!
If you are interested in helping build more trail or maintenance work please contact Black Butte Adventures. A few of us have built and maintained the trail for Black Butte Adventures but we could use some help.
Recommended Route: Enter through the north gate, travel down the road a few hundred feet and take a left (East). The trail does not have any markers but is fairly well ingrained. I am a slow rider and the trip usually takes less than two hours. Other recommended trails in the same area: Bison Plant

Cross Country Rider Summary: I am posting this to let people know that we have added 3 1/2 more miles of singletrack. This winds through a rocky area with many sections passing through/over and around rocks to make the trail more interesting. We hope that people enjoy the new trail and keep coming out.
Remember, all ratings are on the ND scale. Recommended Route: see previous review. Other recommended trails in the same area: see previous review.
