Trail Directions
Bent Creek area to Lake Powahtan. Take Ledford Branch gravel road to Sidehill trail. Follow it to Ingles Field trail. Stay on this one up to the top (4-Points), then take a left on Little Hickory trail, and take another left about 1/2 mile out for one hell of a killer downhill ... Comes out on Boyd Branch gravel road, and take a right to return to the lake area. This is a very nice place to camp/bike/hike. There are over 25 miles of trails within a 6 mile radius I bet.

Summary:
Great place to ride. Extremely close to downtown Asheville if you are there for a weekend. Has nice mix of difficulties. Jordan Mitchell's website(i believe it is www.mtbikewnc.com.) has maps. The NC Arboretum also has nice beginner trails in the same area. Great scenery most of the trails are just gravel paths, but it is a good place to begin riding as well.

Recommended Route:
Bent Creek, Lake Powtan signs are on the Blue Ridge Parkway next the the NC Arborteum.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
NC Arboretum

Summary:
I hope the fire break "heals up" a little this year.

Recommended Route:
Little Hickory, possibly the best trail at the "Bent Creek" experimental forest area. There is only one fault with this trail; it's not long enuf!

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Sidehill is also great.

Summary:
This trail is tight, and passing fellow bikers is a problem if you are screaming downhill...

Recommended Route:
THis trail is fun no matter which way you ride it. It's a good burn up, and fun as any coming down !

Other recommended trails in the same area:
any of them are real challenging to me

Summary:
Killer is right, this trail & Trace Ridge in Mills River, are better than anything Tsali has to offer.
The water breaks make for great bunny-hopping, just be careful of upcoming bikers on your way down (if you're hauling ass).

Recommended Route:
This is a GREAT trail! Sometimes I ride it backwards for the "burn", then enjoy my "reward" for the effort.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Upper Sidehill, Deerfield, Pinetree, hell they're all good!
