Summary:
Do not waste your time on this trail until someone in Parks and Rec goes out there and fixes it up. Its sad because it has so much potential, but it was like someone built it and then forgot it. I could barely see the path, 4 large trees had fallen across the path from some storm during the years. The vines and shrubs have grown into and across the trail. Everyone in the group got stung twice by some unknown creatures that we must have disturbed as we snaked around the overgrown bushes. Look this trail has been left for dead and unless someone goes out there and revives it, I say dont bother!

Recommended Route:
Go up the road less than a mile and ride North Meck Trail. 50xs better!

North Meck, Lake Norman State Park

Summary:
I went to this trail with a friend from work who rode this trail often, and all I can say is thank goodness. I would have never been able to find my way around, because the pine needles have most of the trail covered. The trail was fairly tight, with some moderately challenging climbs. It has potential, and I look forward to riding it once the needles and leaves have been removed by more riders, if they can find their way.

Summary:
This is a great home town trail for the North Meck/South Iredell resident. The trail is well maintained. Not sure about the length but the entire loop takes approximately 20 minutes at a leisurely pace. It is short enough so that twice around gives you a good little cardio work out. This trail is single track but not too narrow. There is a moderate grade and you can get some good speed on sections. There are some semi epic jumps and dips as quoted by my friend Amy. There is one doozy of a jump (which I have only gotten once) where you could definately take a soil sample. The rest are very biker friendly. Amy & I hope you enjoy your ride at North Meck.

I have just gotten into mtn biking and this trail was not too dificult. It doesn't have as many options for the serious rider and the difficult stuff is easy to get around for a beginner.

Summary:
it's a great trail. It has a taste of most everything except big downhills. It cant be 6 miles, tho. A loop usually takes 15 minutes so you can do a few to make up for its relativly short lenghth. The back side, across the creek, has a network of loops that weave up and down the hill with some great BMX style jumps on each down section. This area can be circumvented by sticking to the outer loop. It seems like a good trail for all peoples but most of the folks I talk to don't like it. Go figure. It's close to work, It's quick, and Wendy's is just down the street.

Recommended Route:
Start in the corner of the parking lot at the Mtn bike trail sign and follow counter-clockwise.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Beech Spring, UNCC, Catawba Riverfront, Springs,
