Once you get your bike around the gate follow the dirt road for about 1 half mile and there will be a sign on the left "bike trail" and another gate.turn behind this gate and go for about 200 yds. sign on right trailhead on right and left. This is a nice singletrack loop to play around on.Its real nice when dry and down right nasty when wet.3 and 1 half miles of single track with a few bridges, small log crossings and a nice "half pipe" to play in with the finalle on it being the Beaver Back which is a 15' hill.Fall and sping are the best times to ride it as its sitting on a swamp bed and if its rained that week be prepared to get wet.Bug spray may be a definite must as yellow flys and misqutios are bad.Trails in the surrounding area include Piranna Pit in Havelock,Bicycle post trail in Greenville,The brig trail and New River Air Station trail in Jacksonville.Be sure to check out Flythe's Bike shop in NewBern and The bicycle Shop in Jacksonville. Also ask about the Down East Cycling Club in Jacksonville at The Bicycle Shop.

Summary:
My first time MTBing was saturday. The trail was easy to find and alot of fun. TAKE BUG SPRAY. The fly's are in full force and unrelenting. The course was fast. I only crashed twice (paniced and forgot about the clipless). The trail offered a challenge with a good opportunity at a couple locations to bunny hop a few "small logs" and 2 wood briges crossing small creeks (that were full). A drainage ditch (empty) made a nice 10 foot drop that was easily riden down and back out and served well for working on technique. Going again today.

Summary:
Great Trails! Very fast with some technicals. They just added a new 7-mile loop out there. Even more fun! Call before you go. They close these trails for the least amount of moisture on the ground. I would have given it 4 stars except for their being closed a lot in the wet season.
