Summary:
Ok so upper bark house is great. It is a fast and flowy trail with excellent jumps near the bottom. Unfortunately the same cannot be said about lower barkhouse. It starts with a rough gravel road that is not very much fun. The gravel road eventually leads to overgrown singletrack with many fallen down limbs. Do upper barkhouse and skip lower barkhouse.

Recommended Route:
straight down. Then to greentown or ripshins to headlys. Definately a shuttle ride.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Greentown, rasberrry, headlys, little fork, sinkhole, beehive, north harpers, raider camp, and many more.

Summary:
The top section of Barkhouse is fast and fun and can induce the sensation of flying. The trail is very smooth. It almost always stays clear and you can really let it rip going down. Once you cross the road it gets a little more steep and tight on the lower section. Be careful of the blind turns they come fast when you blast down this section. Fallen limbs and overgrowth is more common on the lower section. If you ride the lower section, please pick up a few of the branches and toss them off the trail. The ride back up from Steels is well worth it.

Recommended Route:
Start behind the Barkhouse outhouse cross the dirt road for the lower section and ride back out up the Mtns to Sea Trail to the dirt road and out onto 181. It makes a nice loop and even better if you combine it with Raspberry and or Ripshin / Headleys / Steels Creek.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Greentown Plunge, Raidercamp, North Harper and Harper Creek
Raspberry, Ripshin / Headleys / Steels Creek

Summary:
It's fun on the down. You can cross the road and keep going down until you hit steel creek (cross and continue to the right). The climb all the way back up sucks (mostly dirt road). Enjoy the waterfall and be safe crossing it (almost lost my girlfriend!!). Also, make sure you have a map (easy to get lost) I think you can grab a good one at CycoLogical in town.

Recommended Route:
as stated

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Any trails in Asheville are way better. Bent Creek, Pisgah Forest, Duepont

Summary:
Do this one when it is dry, because i slid into the bushes the first time i went down. However, the second time, i was movin along. Nothing too technical here, just a little tight. At the bottom there are some jumps (FUN!)

Recommended Route:
All you have to do is start at the outhouse in the barkhouse picnic area. It's well marked.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Rose Creek, Raspberry, Greentown, Bandy Cove, AT
