Weekend Warrior Summary: This trail is just plain fun. Tight singletrack, fairly technical climbs, great downhill sections, fun booters scattered here and there, an optional VERY technical step-down, and absolutely beautiful scenery. It has a little something for everyone. I consider myself a "Cross-Ride-Free-Downer" (title stolen from Da-drop.com)and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire trail. If the additional mileage matches the current flow and layout it will definitely be a destination trail.
Props to PASA for building this and keeping the true vision of what singletrack should be. Recommended Route: just follow the signs Other recommended trails in the same area: Catawba
PeeWee's
Poplar Tent (Beech Springs)
Hanging Rock (If you like punishmant)
Sherman Branch

Cross Country Rider Summary: Although it's only 3 miles, you'll get a workout on this great trail. We did two laps yesterday before darkness took over. Would have loved to have ridden it more, but neither my buddy nor I had lights with us.
As everyone has already posted, the downhills are pretty fast with some nice switch backs and a few spots for small jumps. The uphills aren't steep but they seem to go on forever. :-)
It is an extremely fun trail with very little flat/straight sections to bore you.
The trail was a bit soft in some of the new sections (expected). Even though we had rain two days prior, the trail faired a lot better than some of the local Charlotte trails this time of year. This shows that drainage was well-designed.
It is a very tight singletrack. Be prepared to scrape handlebar ends several times during a lap. :-) You won't see any ATV's (or baby strollers) on this trail. Recommended Route: Counter clockwise!!! Go into the trailhead and take a right. It's one big loop.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I, along with a bunch of other volunteers, helped build this trail. The original objective was to create a trail consisting of flowy singletrack and fun obstacles as options along the way. I believe this goal was achieved. It's roughly three miles right now and it's a fun cardio workout in my opinion. The climbs aren't brutal but there's plenty of them and they offer nice technical decents. Very much worth the trip to ride this place. Recommended Route: counter clockwise Other recommended trails in the same area: Catawba, Poplar Tent

Downhiller Summary: With about 600ft of climbing in a 3 mile stretch, it can work you over. Tight singletrack with fast dh sections. Also a few jumps/drops along the way that are easily avoidable or rollable. The PASA guys did a tremendous job with this trail. THEY RULE!!! Recommended Route: Counter clockwise. Other recommended trails in the same area: Hanging rock
Catawba
Poplar tent

Cross Country Rider Summary: I'm a part of PASA and helped build this trail so my opinion will be slightly skewed but I'll try to be as neutral as possible. The thing I like most about Poston is that eventhough it is only 3 miles long (for now) it is still pretty cardio intense! Lots of long gradual climbs and very few flat sections means you don't get a whole lot of time to rest. It makes for a deceptively long 3 miles. Add to that the always expanding addition of technical lines and features like jumps, step-downs, berms, steep techie downhills, drops, etc and you get to have plenty of fun between the climbs. The other big plus is that the woods at Poston are amazing...the topography, creeks, wildlife, thicks woods with tons of enormous virgin lumber including some gigantic live oaks, and groves of the significantly rare Large Leaf Magnolia, etc. The woods are amazing.
If I had to point out a few cons I'd say of course the length...3 miles is 3 miles but we'll be adding more trail this Fall and should have the system doubled by March 2008 and possibly be up to 11 miles or so before it is all over. For now you'll just have to do a few laps to get in your miles. Another con that was hard to control given the layout of the land we are working with is that the trail lacks tons of flow. The flow is there and the more you ride the trail the more flow you find but the trail overall is not one big flowfest. Sometimes topography is what it is and you have to do the best you can with it. Hopefully the next loop we do will have more flow. The trail is still a blast though so get out and give it a shot. Recommended Route: Counter-Clockwise. The trail was not designed to be fun the other direction and for the most part it isn't. Other recommended trails in the same area: Catawba (US National Whitewater Center)
Poplar Tent (Beech Springs)
PeeWees
Fisher Farm
