Cross Country Rider Summary: this ride used to be on packed dirt/gravel, but is now mostly paved road and more travelled than a few years ago. it's still beautiful and easy, but you'd be better off on a raod bike or XC ride. oh, yeah. when i rode this route years ago, there was a HUGE, FAST and SGNARLY dog in the curve with the old store/house in it. lucky for me i was in front! Recommended Route: for mountain bikers, not at all. Other recommended trails in the same area: Yancey's Ridge, Dark Mountain Trails, Schoolhouse, TTelectric

, from Boone Summary: Damn, this "trail" was listed in a North Carolina tourist handout as one of the best places to ride in this state! Okay, the river is pretty, but I was riding this on my giant unicycle and I never even lost it once? Don't bother with this unless it is just too muddy to ride a real trail; it was a nice break from the Greenway.Bring a fishing pole and a soccer or basketball... PRETTY SCENERY.
