Summary:
made plans to go to the mntns for ski lift downhill riding. it rained so the lifts were not running, we climbed up the ski slope(oh so steep) got to the top looking at the map it seemed some of the trails listed didn't exist. only thing left was straight down the slope on the sand pit was worth riding. i thought that trails meant atleast double/singletrack not 50 feet wide grassy slopes very disappointed glad i didn't buy a lift ticket or i would give a review in the deficit catergory

Recommended Route:
not much of one

linville falls, damascus, va

Summary:
Awesome DH run! Rock drops, roots, open slopes, and water. Pretty dang technical and fast. Too short for my tastes, but as a DH, one of the best around. Very demanding despite the number of times I've ridden it. Needs a big gap jump and bigger drops to get a 5, but hey, I'm just a freerider what do I know?

Recommended Route:
DH course, of course.

Other recommended trails in the same area:
Yes.

Summary:
I raced this trail on Sunday aswell. It was raining during it so it was hard. The climb is all on gravel or forest road. None of it is very steep, just log. At the top, there is a bit of the trail on pavement. The singletrack parts are fun. Rocky, rutty, slippy if wet.
I had a semi-slick on the back and didn't slip too bad.
The downhill wwas fun. It crosses across the slope and into the woods which is rocky and rutty. At the end, it goes straight down. I didn't go on Lizards Lane but I hear it is hard. It is a great trail. One thing though, it is not signed very well. My dad was racing aswell on the xc course and he some how found his way onto the DH course. there is a 4' drop on the DH course.

Recommended Route:
Chair lift if you Downhill of are weak. Left sid of ski slope if not. Maps are in mail box behind main base.
