Cross Country Rider Summary: About 9 months ago their was intrest in maintaining this trail. But, like many old trails, newer trails have taken their place. This trail is city owned, but they only do upkeep if provoked to do so. Bike shop used to have a weekly ride, but I think they moved it to Lake Norman State Park. It was a fairly good trail.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Since moving to Statesville, I have been alternating between this trail and the one at Lk Norman State Park. From what I gather, this is built on a landfill. So the vegetation makes it look a little run Down. It also cicles the Statesville Park and Rec Maintenace area. Seeing it is a city park, you would think they would mow the lawn on a more regular basis. But I see the workers at the soccor field during girls soccar games or at Bo Jangles, more then I see them working. But the trail has new signs thanks to the new disc golf course that weaves through. The trail is a little over 4 miles in length. I cut out a mile, because I've picked up a couple of ticks in the tall grass by the water treatment plant. The trails has the same charecteristicks as the Fisher Farm trail down the road in Davidson(although regular riders of that would tend to disagree. A lot of roots rocks, small log jumps,1/2 foot drop offs. It's a trailt that keeps you pedeling. A good aerobic workout. The more I ride it ,the more I like it. Great after work ride with many watering holes nearby to grap a cold one afterwards Other recommended trails in the same area: LNSP Monbo trail,Overmoutain Victory Trail,Dark Mountain Trail,HoBBy Park, Riverview, Uwarrrie, Bent Creek

Cross Country Rider Summary: Rode this trail today while up at my parents for Thanksgiving. Looks like I am the only one to have ridden it in the last 2 or 3 months. Really overgrown and no maintenance at all. Shame it has a lot of potential. All trails are overgrown with grass and thorns. Pretty soggy too.

Weekend Warrior Summary: I rode this trail in July 2004 and I hated it. It is in dire need of some maintenance. There are trees and weeds growing across the trail, making it difficult to navigate. It appears as if it was once a great ride, but not this season. At one part of the trail, there were weeds with thorns growing across the trail, causing me to end the ride with 2 flat tires (slow leaks). Save yourself the headache and go ride the Itusi trail on Lake Norman instead. Other recommended trails in the same area: Itusi, Renaissance Park, North Mecklenburg Park

Weekend Warrior Summary: I rode this trail once during september because I had just moved to Statesville and was excited to find a trail less than a mile from my house. HOWEVER, I was thoroughly dissapointed when I discovered that the trail had not been maintained AT ALL. There was not ten yars without some sort of overgrowth, fallen tree, or at least a spider web. a times I could not even tell if I was riding the right path, or if there was even a path at all. This trail is so misleading because it has a nice map carved out of wood at the biggining that has been painted and everything. But that is a far as the good stuff goes. This trail would be great if someone would keep it up, but as it stands, it's worthless
