Reddies River Ride
2 reviews
 4 of 5

Constantly growing Mountain bike section to the right and STRAIGHT UP. Locals are working on new trails constantly and would probably be best to take your first few ride with someone, (typically meeting in summer weekdays at 6 pm and Sat. morns) as the trailheads are not clearly marked to prevent motorcycles and four wheelers from hitting those trails. Do watch out on fire roads for motorcycles and four wheelers.

Trail Directions
Hard to explain but: Most people park at the start of the Reddies River Trail Connection,(http://www.wilkescountync.com/yadkinrivergreenway/) off 421 bus ("D" Street) behind Robby Army Store, on 13th street across from a doctor's office (the Reddies River Dam will be a good clue your there). Then you ride upstream the Reddies River Trail Connection and the trail turns to a road. The road comes to Stop Sign to a paved road, turn left and follow road 1/4 mile and turn off of road before the bridge, to your right, thus begins the official Reddies River Ride access.

Summary:
This trail is growing by leaps and bounds. It keeps getting better. The ride in and out is shared with four-wheelers but once you're in the woods, be ready to attack some pretty technical single track. If you like short climbs and twisty single track, check it out.

Recommended Route:
Follow everyone else's directions

Reviewed by: SINGLE TRACK JACK , from WILKESBORO, NC

Summary:
The new single track section is great. It is on the more difficult side, so I would not recommend it for the beginner. Lots of technical sections, and hard climbs. If you like good technical single track, with hard climbs, you will love it. If not just stay on the double track "aka four wheeler trails". It just keeps getting better as it is added to.

Recommended Route:
When you get on the actual four wheeler trails, look for the first one to the right. It goes straight up a hill, and is one heck of a climb. Then look for the next opening to the right, and that is where the good single track starts. Difficult to find, so that we can try and keep the four wheelers and dirt bikes out.
