Ridden Trail: Once a week

Reviewed by: Dome
, from Cherry Point Summary: Loggers just shwacked about 10-20 acres of the trail on the south side of Shady Grove road. This was the part of the trail with few or no roots. The north side still has plenty of roots. Great trail for my experience level (still a learner). Biggest lesson learned--if you ride it before 0900, you may be the first rider/runner of the day. Unless you like to eat spiders, keep your mouth closed. Recommended Route: Actually, I ride it about 5-6 times a week. Several places to get on the trail. I use three different entrances depending on whether I'm on my way home or on my way to work or just playing. Other recommended trails in the same area: Some decent dirt roads on the other side of Roosevelt and behind the rifle range, if you don't want to go off base.

, from Coastal NC Summary: Very fast, technical, and fun. Almost a free ride area if you got the balls to ride without using your brakes. (Which is possible) I've read the views are really cool, but I rarely take my eyes off the trail. Recommended Route: Go through main gate. Stay on that road for about 4 miles. Take Left at Picnic Area. Park at the Playground. Trail head starts on either side of the road.
Other recommended trails in the same area: The loggers really messed the trail up in some sections. Although it is a loop again, some sections still need work.

, from Cherry Pt. Summary: alot of roots very dry and hot no wind so bring lots of water. needs to be cleaned up some. be careful runners use this course and like to put limbs down why i dont know, their not bigger than the log crossings. which it only has three of could use some more. follow the marked trail b/c some trails lead to dead ends has one nice jump. could use more. over all nice trail. very fun, ride avg of 5-6 times a week. first timers take it slow the first few times. if its now enough when you finish turn around and ride it backwards and the game changes. Recommended Route: the real start of the course is past the 1st pavillion on the right go to the one on the left. course was just remarked in ornge its is now called the all terrain trail. Other recommended trails in the same area: brig trail, air station trail

, from Boise, ID Summary: The start of the trail is a fairly technical descent with some heavy ruts and roots everywhere. The climb after is also technical with the same root system (there are trees everywhere). Fallen trees and sand pits accentuate the path. There are several areas to pick up speed and just as many places to break your neck if you fail to negotiate a turn. The trail takes you past several man-made obstacles and next to an inlet of the Neuse river. Great ride! Recommended Route: Starting from behind the gazebo going north, clockwise route.

, from havelock Summary: lots of roots. a couple of log crossings, oh did I mention lots of roots. it is best to ride this trail right after a down poor. there is a lot of sand and the rain makes it enjoyable not muddy Recommended Route: there are a bunch of trails in that area. there is even a trail right after the traffic light by the rifle range road Other recommended trails in the same area: the Newbern trail (thats what friends and I call it. I think it is actually located in Bridgeton)
