Weekend Warrior Summary: I would like to give this trail another try, once my skills have improved, but I need to know where to park; especially when school is in. I parked there once before and got lucky that I did not get towed or a ticket. Is it legal to park at the school? And what about during the school year, do I have to wait until a certain time? Suppossedly it is legal to ride on the trails by permission of the land-owner, but I just need to know about parking.

Weekend Warrior Summary: Who are the idiots that review this trail. There are 7+ miles of trail and many northshore style stunts. Large drops, jumps, downhill and nasty climbs. This is not a beginer trail and some stunts require above average skills. I will agree that the trail does not flow if you don't know where you are going. High Point is a backward ass town with no support for alternative recreation. Thank god some locals got together and created this area. Recommended Route: If you don't know how to get there then you don't need to know

Weekend Warrior Summary: Say "I" if you went to elementry school at Northwood! .....I! First of all, I knew there were trails here when I was 5 cause we'd walk all over them. Back in the day when kids could go out at recess by themselves. Look folks, there are now such bikes known at city bikes...see Gary fisher Fast City..etc. If you still want the cool look of a mountian bike with shocks for the occasional bump and you mostly ride on pavement or flat gravel you might want to go here. It will be a lot easier on your legs for what you ride. However, if you are into true mountian biking then this is the trail for you. I only say this because I went on these trails last year when I was back in HP (I try to get there whenever I can, great place to live) a buddy was riding a Wal-Mart Mongoose and that thing shedded all over the place. You will need a good Mtn. Bike preferably w/ disc brakes to ride this trail or you will have zero fun. Other recommended trails in the same area: I am up for recommendations! Go Panthers, Go Trojans, Go Bison, go panthers again

Downhiller Summary: I don't know what the fuss is all about over this trail. It can be a bit confusing at first but for most, common sense will prevail and they'll figure it out. I'm a DH'er/Freerider and I LOVE this trail. If i'm feeling lazy i can just shortcut it to the stunts but if i want a good workout i can go up at the beginning knowing that i'll get a few killer and tech downhills afterward. if you're complaining about this trail it's probably because you're not very skilled in the technical department of riding and you should just stick to riding the loop around salem lake (don't bother heading back into the woods...you'd cry about that too)
i've only been in this area for a few months and fortunately i live directly behind northwood elementary so i get plenty of practice time on this trail network and i still haven't found then end of some sections. so if you plan on riding here bring your sense of adventure and explore the place; it's worth it. Recommended Route: same as chris's Other recommended trails in the same area: hobby park DS course, salem lake trails

Cross Country Rider Summary: I don't really understand how people could say that there isn't a trail here. I have ridden this trail a number of times (mainly because, like Mike, I am from High Point)and have never had any problem finding it. Granted it may be lacking some flow but it is so much fun due to the challenge and technical stuff on the trail. And who cares if it flows, it is all about having fun and challenging yourself. I think it would be a good idea to post some signs about directions and I would do it if I knew how to ride it correctly. I'm the type of person who could just walk out into the woods and ride for hours on no trail at all, so for me it doesn't really matter. If anyone would be interested in mapping it out or helping me, I will post signs on the trail to help everyone out. Bottom line...as far as flow, it lacks it but as far as fun and pure adrenaline rush, it has alot of stuff to get pretty jacked up on. I would tell everyone to give it a chance and not really discourage anyone from riding it. Oh and the chances of getting busted for riding there or someone running you off are slim to none..well at least it hasn't happened for me. Happy riding and hope to see some of you guys soon. Take care and be safe. Recommended Route: not the person to ask Other recommended trails in the same area: Any of them...as long as you are being active, who cares. Some suck some don't.
