Jaars Trails

These trails are relatively new (built by a offroad motorcycle club but designed for everyone) so they aren't that well marked yet and one or two of them need some work. Lots of ups and downs, mostly singletrack with a little bit of double track and fire access roads. Nice mixture of smooth and rocky trails for different skill levels. A couple of 'long' climbs are included. Any other questions, feel free to email me...

Trail Directions
Take I-485 to Providence Rd. South, take Providence Rd. to Waxhaw. Turn left at the stoplight and keep going till you get to Waxhaw/Monroe Rd. and take that to Old Providence Rd. There are signs posted at the intersection of Waxhaw/Monroe Rd and Old Providence Rd. giving directions to the Jaars/Wycliffe center. Take Old Providence to Davis Rd (right turn) and take davis Rd. to Jaars Rd (right turn). Take jaars Rd. until you see a sign in front of a building called the Olive Branch and pull into the parking lot there. Over in the left corner of the parking lot, there is a small trail entrance into the woods that starts the trail. Take this trail and follow along side the airstrip until you are on the side of the airstrip opposite from where you started. Follow that side of the airstrip and there are several trails which branch out from this one.

Summary:
Mix of singletrack and doubletrack. Last time I road, the trails were still being built. Maintained by dirtbike club but definitely open to mountain bikers. Some trails are tight singletrack, untouched by dirtbikes, with almost all the trails being pretty smooth with minimal roots and rocks.

Recommended Route:
too many new trails to give good directions
