Weekend Warrior Summary: Great trail if you just go with the flow. Trail is not well marked, but is well taken care of. About an hour ride, at moderate pace. Good ups and downs, several bridges, and a practice course for those who like to jump. Worth a 30-60 minute trip. Recommended Route: Leave from the upper parking area.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I ride this trial multiple times a week when I just want to go out and work up a sweat. I think it is a great trail and it is difficult with out being impossibly hard. There are a lot of great climbs and some technical riding, but not much. I think that a rider of any skill lever can find some enjoyment in Hobby. All of the trail is around the center field in the park. Your bike can break and you are no more than a mile from your car.
As far as the people are at Hobby. There are a ton of bikers, families, and model airplane people; the atmosphere is great. I have read some of the reviews and it seems the others have had seen more of the men of Winston than I have. I find that there are just random men walking around; what they hell they are doing, I don't know. I just focus on the trail. Recommended Route: Start past the wooden sign in the parking lot and just go. There are a lot of opportunities to take shortcuts in the trail, but I suggest you do not take them. Other recommended trails in the same area: Owl's Roost

Weekend Warrior Summary: I've been riding Hobby for a long time, probably getting close to 15 years now. The trail has changed over the years, but generally for the better, with new sections and some sections being re-routed. The biggest negative is that the trail is very poorly marked and it's possible to get dis-oriented. One of the recent reviewers mentioned that this is not a "family" park, but I've never encountered any problems. The park is mostly used for biking and there's a model airplane field and a soapbox derby track.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I ride Hobby whenever I'm in the area on business. It has changed and become less technical. That translates to a better workout aerobicly. I've enjoyed the additions to the trail and hope things keep improving. All trails including Tanglewood which is down the scale from Hobby are trails that weave back on themselves. With that small amount of land it's to be expected. Overall it's a good place to ride. Wouldn't recommend it to beginners. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tanglewood is less technical but you can get a good workout if you're looking for speed and continuous riding.
