Closed off parkway

Portions of the parkway are closed in wintertime, which means road-riding with no traffic. Better than nothin'.

Summary:
About a mile from Price Lake going toward Grandfather Mountain the parkway was barricaded to keep idiots from driving on this rode in the winter. I rode a similar stretch last summer when a section of the rode was closed for bridge construction, it was soooo nice. No cars! It ain't single-track, but it is better than nothin'. The views are fantastic! I don't know if riding on this is legal, but the rangers were friendly to me last summer. Don't do stupid stuff out here and make work for the rescue squads, the trails are off-limits. Don't cuss me either, I'm twice your age and glad to still be riding!

Recommended Route:
I just found out about this, I took my big unicycle to the parkway to see if anything was closed off and ridable. I parked at Sim's Pond and rode.
