Cross Country Rider Summary: This trail looked like it has some really fun, fast, flowy downhill but unfortunately if you follow the directions on mtbikewnc.com you will be going up it all. Actually you'll be going up 85% of the time only to come down a gravel road for over a mile. They might be the most retarded directions ever. Ask a local bike shop for a trail recommendation and definitely check out green lick(coming down from the 5 trail intersection). There are a lot of people there on the weekends but it could be a fun place if you could get a decent route set up. I rode my singlespeed but in hindsight I wish I rode the squishy bike for the jumps.

Cross Country Rider Summary: Typical western NC trails! If you don't like climbing you will not like it! Mix of single track, forest service roads, fire roads, and double track. Really a little bit of everything. Some areas that are rocky, typically at least a little wet & muddy (this is a boarderline rain forest folks). The trails can be pretty confusing, take a map, or ride with a local if you can. I have ridden here 3 times now and it's awesome! Recommended Route: I am not very familiar with it, but if you climb up past 5 points and come down greens lick, that is very fun. The trails near lake powhaten are pretty cool too. I think the whole place is fun! YOU WILL NEED A MAP or a guide. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tsali, Issaquena (Clemson, SC), Catawba River (Charlotte, NC). There are so many great trails in the southeast you almost can't go wrong.

Cross Country Rider Summary: I was very excited to spend a week on vacation in the asheville area, and was equally excited to finally ride Bent Creek. This trail was very very disappointing, and not at all worth the hype it gets. I would not recommend this trail to anyone who wants to spend more than an hour on some long stretches of single track. The multiple short trails made for a very confusing ride, having to piece together very short single track trails, combined with wide fire roads, closed logging areas and more disappointing single track. The Hardtimes connector that is mentioned multiple times is a .9 mile trail that takes all of 5 minutes to ride down, hardly worth the effort. What about a five minute trail makes this worth mentioning? Overall, while a very scenic place with some beautiful water, in my opinion, this place is not worth taking your bike, it will leave you wanting more. Recommended Route: who knows, the longest trail out there seems to be all of 3 miles. Other recommended trails in the same area: Tsali, tsali and tsali

Cross Country Rider Summary: Hurricane Ivan brought lots of rain and tree downs throughout Bent Creek but thanks to a handfull of hard working cyclists and a temporary lifting of the chainsaw requirements the majority of singletrack trails have been cleared.
North Boundary, Ingles Field, Side Hill,
Explorer, Hickory Top and others have been cleared. Some of the gated roads are in worse shape than the trails, Ledford Branch still has a mud slide and several trees still blocking and Laurel
Branch was hammered by flashflood rains
forming 2 foot trenches. BRBC will be forming work crews to repair some of the damage and to help build some new connectors.
