Ridden Trail: Every few months

Weekend Warrior Summary: I feel this trail compares a great bit to reedy fork trail, only this one has MUCH MORE ROOTS, it can be fun and there are some places to get up some speed. It all depends on what you like. This trail is great for working on picking your lines (especially if you ride a hardtail), changing gears at the right moment, and working through... you guessed it, roots. Not a lot of elevation change, but what is there gives a workout, especially with.....yes, the roots. It is fairly well kept up, in good shape, a good length, especially with...the added distance on the end loop to stretch it to the road on the other end. My only complaint is the "short side of the loop is soooooo rooty, I don't even mean like the rest of the trail, it was certainly not worth going over. You have to pedal at a snail pace but go too slow and you get hung. Anyone who has been out there knows what I mean. I really like this trail, but I will remember to take the "long part of the loop" back and not try the shortcut on the way back to the marina. Recommended Route: As it is an out-and-back, not much to say, ride it out and then back. When you get to the "loop", where the trail splits, I recommend staying right (assuming you started at the marina)and on the way back stay left and just totally retrace your path. But you may have to experience the torture zone once just to say you did it, or to say you did the entire trail, or to understand what I mean, or if you are masochistic (beyond what a normal mtbker is). Other recommended trails in the same area: Bur-mill (all 3), country park, reedy fork, Hobby, Tanglewood

Weekend Warrior Summary: A fun ride for all skill levels. Also suitable for beginners. Only downside is that it is rather rooty in places. Also there are two road crossings, so be careful there.
