Summary: We have worked hard this winter to re-route the course to make it smoother and faster , Come try for yourself . The new course is just as challenging and a lot more fun
Recommended Route: Dive in the trail as you crest the first knoll to your left at the mattresses

Summary: They should re-name this trail Root Track instead of Ace Track. It's a good trail and well built but the local trees don't cooperate. Roots, Roots, and MORE ROOTS! You will need to visit a good chiropractor after riding a few laps here. Roots aside, there are a few fast, fun sections with a few jumps, but mostly tight, winding switchbacks with small climbs and descents. Not for beginners or rigid bikes! A few easy bridges that are stout but slippery when wet. (Look out John......BAM! That's gonna leave a mark!) The few climbs are tough because of roots and low momentum leading up to them but challenging for that reason. Overall a decent trail that's in the middle of nowhere but the best around by default. Requires constant concentration and strong upper body to fight off "root fatigue". Not as fun as Rocky Road or Centenial, but I'd ride it again if up this way. Look out for the entry onto the first wooden bridge and the rock garden near the end of the fast section in the "lower forty" near the end of a lap. They will reach up and grab you. Fun trail but with root overkill. If you like roots, you can have it your way here!
Recommended Route: Counter-clockwise starting from entrance to the left over the hill heading towards the BMX track. You will cross the access road during a lap, but this is how the race laps are run.

Ridden Trail: Please Select

Summary: This is by far the most unforgiving trail on the Eastern side of this beautiful state. A great deal of imagination, time and work went into building it. The loop is only 4.5 miles, but one time around this root, rock, tight turned, up and down, no resting place course, you will be thankful it's not longer. This trail is a perfect race course. It is tight for the most part with a lot of challenging obstacles to reward the technical types and those who can handle there bikes in overwhelming conditions. Plus, there are a few opened up areas for passing or just to get a speed fix. The best thing about this trail or race course is the organizer, Kenny! This guy has the cleanest facilities with cool drinking water available. The few bridges he does have are very well made and the trail is always clear of big stuff. If you consider yourself a racer, than one of his races should most definitely be on your schedule. He offers a few different types of races too. X/C, Biker-Cross, a 6 hour and 3 12 hour endurance races. The endurance races are the second most fun thing you can do on a mountain bike, (I hope you know what the first most thing is, if it's even possible). Try the place out or just come and saw one of the events there, you make the call!
Recommended Route: Once you've entered the gate, go to the top of the hill and look toward the BMX track. You will see the mattress around the tree and that is the best starting point.

Ridden Trail: Once a month

Summary: This trail is full of roots! Let me say that again....This trail is full of roots! And when your not riding on roots, your either riding on rocks or screaming downhill. Did I mention switchbacks? This trail has them. Extra tight too! The climbs are short but moderately steep and technical. If your not weighted right, you will spin out and have to walk the rest of the way up the hill. Do you like jumps? Good! Because this trail has them. About the only thing this trail lacks is a flat dull spot....won't find any of those here. For all those still interested, hope to see you out there. Kenny and company put on an excellent race whether it's an XC event or a 12hr endurance race. I highly recommend all mountain bikers make an effort to include one of his events on his or her schedule. You won't be disappointed.
Recommended Route: To get to the trail, follow the instructions mentioned above. As far as the trail is concerned, the direction the races are run in is to the right (if you were to be looking from the bottom of the hill to the gate). You'll see an entry into the woods marked by a tree wrapped in a mattress. This is known as the bottom half of the coarse. It's only about 1.5 miles, so it really isn't half, but who's really counting. You'll eventually come to the road you accessed the trailhead by. Keep going across and you'll see where you enter the upper half. This is a race loop, so there aren't any turn-offs you need to worry about. Just follow the trail.
